There is so much to say about Patricia's beautiful home. The location is great--minutes walk to everything yet oh so quiet. I felt as if I was living in a museum--the art Patricia has collect is beautiful and I felt fortunate that she trusted us as guest to live in this beautiful space. The whole house is extremely comfortable and well appointed. Everything in the kitchen you might like for cooking --we found eating out was so inexpensive we did not use the kitchen much but it was nice to have for tea, coffee and fruit in the morning. (or to bring home tacos from the little place around the corner--a two minute walk) The courtyard is a huge bonus--quiet and secluded but gives you a chance to relax outdoors--or belly dance-- as we did, as there is a player and speaker behind the courtyard bar. The third level terrace has wonderful views--it was a little chilly when we were there but it would be a great space for morning coffee and evening wine. The bathroom eel isl appointed with plenty of fresh towels an a great bath tub. And to top it all off Patzcuaro is a fabulous, friendly, throw- back town! I highly recommend Patricia's home. I just hope it is not occupied when I want to visit again!

This is the best Airbnb that I have ever stayed in! A lovely home, uniquely and beautifully decorated with lots of space inside and outside. The bed was super-comfortable and the house impeccably clean. The location is perfect, close enough to the best of Pátzcuaro, on a pleasant, quiet side street with good, safe parking. Patricia was super-prompt and effective in communicating with us regarding our reservation. The house manager, Mariela was welcoming and was quick and efficient in showing us the house, available to help if we needed any. We really loved this place, so much that we came back a second time on the return leg of our Michoacan road trip. I'd like to come back again and stay for longer; it would be a great place to live! I can't recommend this home more highly. If you are visiting Pátzcuaro, which I also highly recommend, stay here!!!

This private room was exactly as represented and more. What I particularly liked was the care taken to insure that guests felt welcome. I was fortunate to have the only occupied room during my short stay in Patzcuaro, so I had this wonderful house to myself. Mariela is charming and knowledgable, making sure there was nothing we needed. The location of this property is close to the city's center yet distant enough to preclude excess noise, especially at night. An essential part of this experience, in my opinion, is the magnificent architecture. A well-preserved colonial city, Patzcuaro commands that you walk through time on these narrow cobble-stoned streets and contemplate the elegance of the past. Patricia draws on this history and its playful aesthetic throughout the house, giving the visitor a glimpse not only of a vanished time but also of the wonders of traditional hand-crafted folk art. I must say that it was hard to leave this lovely space and I look forward to returning to it again as soon as possible.

Once upon a time I was translocated to Patzcuaro, Michoacan for a year of my life. I enjoyed exploring Mexico and all it´s food, culture and diversity, met really wonderful people there and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the ´off the beaten track´ destinations and attractions that only living in a place for a length of time can afford. I started sharing my love of Michoacan and Patzcuaro in particular with anyone who came our way, and although life has called me back to California indefinitely, I still love sharing Patzcuaro with anyone who is interested. So now I manage Casa de Nana Ree from afar with the help of our invaluable caretaker and wonderful housekeeper in Patzcuaro.

I started meeting other travelers several years ago as I hosted couch surfers from all over the world in my (then) home in Santa Cruz, Ca. Airbnb was the logical next step as I gradually desired more security, comfort and privacy both as a traveler and host. 'Surfing' someone's couch is all about sharing your community with travelers and I have tried to apply that to our Casa as well. We have done our best to leave you comfortable AND informed - because the best things about visiting a new place are often the ones you wouldn´t ever know about unless someone told you!

Being an experienced myself, I know it's the little things that make a place special. I treasure good music, delicious food (especially Mexican street food), interesting people, conversations and of course, wandering aimlessly whenever I can! So in the spirit of fellow travelers, we open the doors of our Patzcuaro Casa in hopes that others can enjoy a taste of the tranquilidad, cultura y amistad that is so prevalent in small town Mexico.
