Croeso / Welcome to Caban y Saer (Carpenter’s Cabin) — a contemporary cedar retreat overlooking the gentle River Hafesb in the tiny village of Llanfor. Thoughtfully furnished for your relaxation and enjoyment, it’s a peaceful escape made for two, whether you're staying for a night or a week.
Hand-built by my dad, Mick — a carpenter by trade — Caban y Saer carries a special family story, reflected in its warm craftsmanship and calming design. Tucked privately at the edge of the garden, it feels wonderfully secluded, with a soothing riverside deck that invites you to slow down, listen to the water, and just breathe.
With level access and everything on one floor, the cabin is also suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Only a 20-minute walk from Bala’s shops, restaurants, and the famous Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), it’s perfectly placed for lakeside strolls, watersports, countryside walks, or simply doing nothing at all.

Access to Caban y Saer is all on level ground with one step up into the property. The floors are solid oak and all on one level. Shower En-suite.

The location is great for a peaceful break, a base for touring or for activities such as cycling, walking, fishing, canoeing and white water rafting.


Our garden is a delight and has decking, pond, stream and tables and chairs where you can chill out and relax. We also have free Wi-Fi. We can store your bikes and trailed boats securely. We can dry your soggy clothes and boots. In fact you are guaranteed to feel spoilt here!
