Guests are welcome to use either of our two sitting rooms. The room at the front of the house has a gas flame fire, leather sofas and a massive TV :) This is the room we use ourselves in the evening so if you feel like a conversation just come on in! The rear sitting room which adjoins the kitchen is lovely and light. It is south facing and opens onto the garden and decking which you are welcome to use when the weather is good. We also serve breakfast in here. It's a great room for relaxing and on colder days we light the wood burning stove and curl up with a book...
Interaction with guests
Tea and home-made cake will await your arrival - of course.
Once you've settled in we will interact as much, or as little, as you want. The best conversations seem to take place at breakfast time! We're happy to provide information and recommendations on the local area but we also appreciate that you might simply want to chill out and do your own thing. We may be out for part of the day as Jane works part time and John has other commitments outside the home but you are welcome to come and go as you please - just make yourselves at home.
We can point you in the direction of our favourite restaurants and pubs and have lots of information about local attractions, walks and tours.
Other things to note
We also have a single room available - see listing entitled 'Perfect Room for One in Inverness.
We are happy for you to bring your dog (well-behaved ones of course) by prior arrangement. Please let us know in advance so that we can check that our other guests are OK with dogs. We can even put you in touch with members of Highland Dogblog who organise amazing pack walks in all the best places...
For guests on a vegan or gluten free diet please give us advance notice so that we can prepare for you.
Are you driving the North Coast 500? Why not start or finish your trip with us. If you're attending events such as the Loch Ness Etape, Tartan Heart Festival at Belladrum or the Loch Ness Marathon you are welcome to use our utility room for drying clothes, boots and the like :) We are on the best side of town for easy access to all events at Bught Park and also football matches or concerts at the Caledonian Stadium.
We simply ask that you are careful around the house and treat it as you would your own home. In the morning we will set out everything you need for breakfast: cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, scones and toast and there is a 'guest shelf' in the cupboard with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Please help yourself.
We don't offer the use of our kitchen for cooking meals BUT you are welcome to bring snacks etc and use the microwave, toaster, kettle and any crockery or cutlery that you need.
If you are staying long term we can discuss your requirements separately.
Small dogs are welcome but please let us know in advance.
Ours is a non-smoking house & garden.
Check in is 4pm - 10pm but we would appreciate you letting us know roughly what time you'll arrive so that we can plan our evening.

We are a Scottish couple with grown up children who have flown the nest. Jane works as an administrator/graphic designer and John is a retired police officer and also a bagpipe player! We love living in the Highlands of Scotland and when the sun shines there is no better place to be. This year it feels like the whole world has come to our door via Airbnb and we have loved every minute. We've met so many amazing people and had some wonderful conversations with our guests. Here's to 2017!
We love to travel and we absolutely adore Italy and France as well as places further afield. From Inverness you can make day trips to Ullapool, Cairngorms, Dornoch, Strathpeffer, Loch Ness and many other places. There are loads of Outlander locations in our area too. Food and drink are always high on our agenda, we enjoy cooking and baking for friends just as much as we enjoy eating out at local restaurants. Jane is a keen photographer and John enjoys traditional Scottish music and golf. John's also a native Gaelic speaker and is always happy to teach visitors a few useful phrases or offer a translation for places on a map. We love chatting with our guests and we look forward to welcoming you to our home. We will do our best to help you enjoy all that the Scottish Highlands have to offer.
