A lovely double room, with a king-sized bed, awaits you in our centrally located home in Inverness. Comfortable, with contemporary styling, our home makes a perfect base for touring the beautiful highlands. Continental breakfast is included - more details below. Our cosy wood burning stove is usually on in the winter and it's perfect for curling up in front of on a cold day. In the summer we have a sunny patio to relax on. We look forward to extending a warm Scottish welcome to you.

The space

Our guest bedroom is located upstairs at the front of our house with views towards the Black Isle. There's a king sized bed with side table and table lamps, a full sized set of drawers with a mirror (all shown in the photos) and a wardrobe with lots of hanging space. We naturally provide all bed linen and towels. You will have use of our brand new shower room which is on the ground floor (see photo). A tea/coffee cupboard is provided in the kitchen so that you can enjoy hot drinks whenever you choose. In the morning we serve a continental style breakfast with a selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, fruit salad, pastries, toast, local honey and jam, tea and coffee. Guest access

Guests are welcome to use either of our two sitting rooms. The room at the front of the house has a gas flame fire, leather sofas and a massive TV :) This is the room we use ourselves in the evening so if you feel like a conversation just come on in! The rear sitting room which adjoins the kitchen is lovely and light. It is south facing and opens onto the garden and decking which you are welcome to use when the weather is good. We also serve breakfast in here. It's a great room for relaxing and on colder days we light the wood burning stove and curl up with a book...

Interaction with guests

Tea and home-made cake will await your arrival - of course.

Once you've settled in we will interact as much, or as little, as you want. The best conversations seem to take place at breakfast time! We're happy to provide information and recommendations on the local area but we also appreciate that you might simply want to chill out and do your own thing. We may be out for part of the day as Jane works part time and John has other commitments outside the home but you are welcome to come and go as you please - just make yourselves at home.
We can point you in the direction of our favourite restaurants and pubs and have lots of information about local attractions, walks and tours.

Other things to note

We also have a single room available - see listing entitled 'Perfect Room for One in Inverness.
We are happy for you to bring your dog (well-behaved ones of course) by prior arrangement. Please let us know in advance so that we can check that our other guests are OK with dogs. We can even put you in touch with members of Highland Dogblog who organise amazing pack walks in all the best places...
For guests on a vegan or gluten free diet please give us advance notice so that we can prepare for you.
Are you driving the North Coast 500? Why not start or finish your trip with us. If you're attending events such as the Loch Ness Etape, Tartan Heart Festival at Belladrum or the Loch Ness Marathon you are welcome to use our utility room for drying clothes, boots and the like :) We are on the best side of town for easy access to all events at Bught Park and also football matches or concerts at the Caledonian Stadium.

Jane and John are friendly and enthusiastic hosts who go out of their way to help you figure things out in Inverness and elsewhere (Ask Jane about Glasgow.) Their location is a plenty 20 minutes walk into town, the bedroom we had plenty comfortable. Highly recommend!

Room is clean and comfortable. Jane serves amazing breakfast. Home made scones, muffins, apple pie. They were quite helpful with booking us cabs and explaining things to do in and around Inverness. It was a pleasure to meet Jane and John and stay in their lovley and modern house. What a nice and light-flooded livingroom and a really comfy bed in the guest room! We stayed just for one night, but would have loved to stay longer and get to know them better! Unfortunately they were booked and I can see why ;-). Everything was just perfect! They like to travel themselves and therefore they really know what their guests will need and have an eye for the details and that little extra! Jane and John were super helpful and it was interesting to chat with them. Loved the scones, croissants and fresh fruit for breakfast! Would love to stay with them again and highly recommend their Airbnb. Airbnb at it's best! Thanks for everything! Cheers Kathrin and Allan

Response from Jane & John:
Aw, thank you Kathrin for such a kind review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay - and our home baked goodies! We agree that two or three nights are the minimum you need for a trip to the highlands and also for getting to know each other, so we do hope you'll come back one day so we can pick up where we left off!

We are a Scottish couple with grown up children who have flown the nest. Jane works as an administrator/graphic designer and John is a retired police officer and also a bagpipe player! We love living in the Highlands of Scotland and when the sun shines there is no better place to be. This year it feels like the whole world has come to our door via Airbnb and we have loved every minute. We've met so many amazing people and had some wonderful conversations with our guests. Here's to 2017!
We love to travel and we absolutely adore Italy and France as well as places further afield. From Inverness you can make day trips to Ullapool, Cairngorms, Dornoch, Strathpeffer, Loch Ness and many other places. There are loads of Outlander locations in our area too. Food and drink are always high on our agenda, we enjoy cooking and baking for friends just as much as we enjoy eating out at local restaurants. Jane is a keen photographer and John enjoys traditional Scottish music and golf. John's also a native Gaelic speaker and is always happy to teach visitors a few useful phrases or offer a translation for places on a map. We love chatting with our guests and we look forward to welcoming you to our home. We will do our best to help you enjoy all that the Scottish Highlands have to offer.
