No shower. Wish I had of known that. we read 'shower house' which was totally misleading as the 'shower' was actually a bucket in a shed. I think people should be prepared for that. Other than that it was pretty good. We liked the proximity to Kaslo and New Denver. Quiet and private was awesome too. Not super clean but that was expected so not a big deal for us. Oh, we wished we had of had more flashlights. The cabin is DARK even in the middle of the day. I didn't like that but that's just me. I wouldn't say that's a reason not to check it out :)

Response from Cindy:
Sorry if you think it was misleading, but there is indeed a shower & is definitely NOT a "bucket in a shed". There a sauna building with a small, nicely finished "shower room" which has a brand new showerstall/bathmat/towel hangers etc. The showerstall has a shelf with a bucket & container to pour water & it goes down a normal drain. (I used to provide solar shower bags but they are harder to handle and fall on the floor). This cabin is often used by backcountry enthusiasts who are ok with this type of shower. If you had actually used the shower you may have been pleasantly surprised it is quite easy, it works very well & has nice ambience. Also when you say the cabin is too expensive that is because you booked the cabin for a small group of 3 adults over July long weekend. At the time of booking I said "I usually charge less for small groups, but because its a holiday weekend I`d have to charge almost the full rate". Usually its almost half the price for smaller groups. Thanks for the feedback though, I will try to edit & improve the description. I will also put up signs to explain how to use the shower & encouraging guests to try it because it is actually a pleasant experience & nice to realize how simple a shower can be.

Be warned that this is a skiiers cabin in Alpine cabin style. I.e. no running water/ electricity etc. There are however awesome propane amenities and you will NEVER be too cold once you get the stove going. It's an excellent place to get away.

We had a great time off grid. Wonderful hikes in the woods and lakes nearby. The hut was cozy and we enjoyed the warm wood burner and crisp night air.

Our experience of this cabin was great since we were looking for something a bit more rustic in the wilderness. Keep in mind, there was a outhouse away from the house, no fridge and you have to boil your own water to take a shower. There were many clear instructions on how to use everything in the cabin properly. For a family of 5 adults, the space was big enough and quite cozy. I would definitely go back again!

We booked the entire cabin for a little peace and quite. It was a great place to spend a few nights. Beautiful hiking nearby. Cabin as depicted.

My family and I (7 of us including a 2-year-old) had a very nice stay at Cindy's cabin. You need to keep in mind that this is a basic cabin, for example you need to get water from the pump outside, there is no electricity, the toilet is outside the cabin and is a pit toilet (no flush), no fridge, etc., but these are exactly the things we loved about the cabin. To be able to spend time in such a simple setting and away from our everyday life routines and amenities is a great reminder of how unnecessary are many of the things we surround ourselves with. The cabin was very clean and cozy. The location is very nice as it is close to some nice hikes, you also have easy access to the hot springs in the area (Ainsworth Hot Spring is 40 minutes away by car). Since there is not much light pollution in the area, the sky at nights is just astonishing if you are lucky to have a clear sky, I had only seen something like this in the desert. All in all we had a very nice time and will definitely stay there again.
