This turreted hideaway forms the East Tower of a 15th century château - featured in a number of UK homes & interiors magazines. The tower is completely self-contained and its pretty, covered balcony offers breathtaking views over the château's truffle orchard. Internally it is full of character with a circular, beamed bedroom and roll top bath on the top floor and a sitting room below. There is no formal kitchen so this is a place for foodies wanting to experience local French food by eating out
The space
You’re hidden away from the outside world, yet only 5km from Chinon. The balcony, which makes for the perfect breakfast or apero spot, has quite the best view over the whole estate.
The interior of the Tower is decorated and furnished to the highest of standards, combining artwork and antiques with beautiful fabrics and vintage finds: think atmospheric and characterful. The roll-top bathtub features a Lefroy Brooks shower.
There are five active bee colonies producing our delicious estate honey; we use the beeswax to polish the antique furniture.
We’re really into cleaning (we try very hard to only use organic cleaning products) and like to make sure the space is sparkling! We hope the Tower is a haven for you to escape to and enjoy.
THE TOWER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN
Guest access
You have access to the 10-acre truffle orchard.
If the nearby Stables have not been rented out, you are welcome to enjoy the beautiful walled formal gardens, rose garden and heated swimming pool (only open during the summer). The accommodation is excellent but it’s the setting that makes this stay truly special. Please note that the pool is not part of the Tower's listing.
Other things to note
Although there is no kitchen, the East Tower is equipped with a small fridge with ice-making facilities, (ice tray provided) kettle, microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine (pods provided). There is also a cocktail trolley. A rice cooker and a slow cooker are available, upon request.

Please be aware that the property of La Fuye, as a whole, has the following:
- a well (not a visible feature and very securely covered)
- a swimming pool (not covered or fenced in summer but fitted with a French regulatory pool alarm). Closed and covered in winter. Cover cannot be walked on. POOL IS NOT RENTED WITH THE TOWER.
- a natural 'cave' / natural rocky opening within the garden (very traditional in this part of France). This has been partially covered over by a wire grill for safety reasons.
Strictly no glasses or breakables to be used in the garden or by the swimming pool. Good quality plastic glasses and enamelware are provided for your safety.
As detailed under the 'Guest Access' section, the pool and gardens will only be available to you if there is not another booking in the nearby Stables.
By making this booking you are agreeing to exercise due care over yourself and any one else in your party.

I’m a mother, an author and a passionate collector of decorative antiques from wherever I can find them: brocantes, auctions or flea markets. I’m based in Singapore but this is our home in France.
I’m passionate about hosting too, and I hope we succeed (read our reviews!) in offering you an antique-filled escape that is a mix of traditional design, old-world charm and modern luxury, in the shadow of our 15th century château in the Loire Valley.
