We had a very pleasant eight-day stay in this cottage. It is spacious, attractive, well equipped and in a quiet location. Our hosts left helpful information for us about the house, local facilities, emergency contact numbers... We used public transport to travel around the area - hourly buses up and down the coast and trains every 20 minutes from Humlebaek station. It is v well situated for visiting the Louisiana modern art museum, Kronborg castle in Helsingor, Frederiksborg castle, Karen Blixen's home at Rungstedt and it's only 30 mn on train into Copenhagen. Lovely place.
We (4 adults and 4 children) spent 4 nights in this house in August. As described, the house is very comfortable with all necessary equipment (including a washing machine and a dishwasher). We particularly enjoyed the open-plan living room downstairs..we immediately felt at home! Then children spent most of their time outside, playing in the tree-house and on the trampoline. The area is beautiful, particularly the sea front (which is 150 yards away) and the old part of the town, with its gorgeous thatched cottages. There are plenty of supermarkets/shops nearby to do your grocery shopping. There is a train station about 3mn away by car (with 12 hour free parking) and it takes around 30mn to travel to Copenhagen by train. We bought a 24 hour ticket (about 13 pounds per adult) which gave us the possibility to use the underground and buses in the capital, as well as travel by train. All in all, a great holiday. We didn't have any problems but Anders, the owner of the house, had left plenty of instructions about the house and the area and was quick to respond if we had any questions.
We had a magical stay here. For one of the nights we had additional family stay with us and it was very comfortable. Our 3&6 yr old enjoyed the garden and cat greatly. It was so close to the beach and harbour. The fresh fish from the local fishery on the harbour was delicious. Louisiana was fantastic too, heaps for the kids to do.
A beautiful and charmimg house, tastefully decorated, with a big, nice garden and a cool cat. The friendly and helpful hosts, the lovely house and the beautiful area (nearby village and Copenhagen) offered a great overall experience and made this a great stay for our family! Highly recommended!
Great house on a great location: perfect for the kids (by the sea) and for us (30 ' from Copenhagen and just next to the Louisianamuseum). Well equiped kitchen and everything a family needs (including the 'cuddly cat' Aslan) Bathroom could use some attention - and is a bit small for a larger group, but it worked out fine.
The house is in a small seaside village approx. 30 km north of Copenhagen. It's very charming with a large garden. The house is well equipped with a washing machine, dish washer, wifi/internet, television, a nice kitchen and an outdoor dining area with bqq. Having only one small bathroom and not much storage space, the house felt a bit small for our group (4 adults and 4 children in the range of 5-9yo) but we new that in advance. Our kids loved the trampoline in the garden as well as Aslan the cat who loved to be cuddled. There is a small nice sand beach 150 meters from the house. The water is very shallow tens of meters into the sea with hardly any waves, so perfect for young children. The location of the house is perfect for visiting the Royal castles and palace in the area and Copenhagen is only a 30 minute drive / train ride away. The kids enjoyed Dyrehavsbakken (an amusement some 20km from the house) very much. Lousiana Museum of Modern Art is around the corner and is well worth visiting. As we arrived very late due to traffic, unfortunately we didn't meet Anders but he left us very detailed instructions and made us feel very welcome.
