This is my third time staying at the Camaleon, and as always the apartments are very clean, they give you maps and local contacts and information for any activity! Very spacious and well decorated to give you the Costa Rican experience. I have been here three times and there will definitely be a 4th. Thank you so much to the Lawrences and friends for being such great hosts and friends. Cheers!

Wonderful stay at Casa Camaleon! Clean, AC, fresh towels every day, and close to the beach! Sharr and Kristi catered to our every need and were so lovely to us. Casa Camaleon is a close walk to Playa Grande which is so much quieter and cleaner than Tamarindo. There are some lovely restraunts right down the street and there is easy access to Tamarindo! This is a great bang for your buck and I would 100% recommend!

Sharr's place was wonderful. It was clean and comfortable and very quick walk to the beach. Kristi was amazing and helped us with whatever we needed (surf boards, shuttles, local recommendations etc) A wonderful way to end our trip.

This place is located right on palya grande 3 minutes walk from the beach. One of the prettiest beaches we have been to in guanacaste. The place was peacefull and clean and the on site manager is extremely helpfull with activities to do around playa grande and tamarindo. The waves are perfect for surfing and courses are available on site you just have to ask. 5 on 5 !!

The stay was great! Clean space, Kristi was super friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Close to the beach and food and supplies were just a short walk away. I would stay here again.

Casa Camaleon is a great place to stay. It is an apartment with the basics and is definitely not for those who need/want luxuries and entertainment. Murat met us when we arrived and gave us information about the area (including maps) and the apartment (there are kitchen items, stove, refrigerator, AC (only working if the power is working-an issue when we first arrived but not after), bedding and towels. The beds were lovely (especially the queen). Water was fine (tasted just like Lake Michigan H2O); no need to buy. Cold showers only. You will need to supply soap, shampoo, etc. Small problem with ants, but it's Costa Rica - deal with it. The hammock was wonderful. It's a 20-30 min walk to the H2O taxis (7a-4/5p or so). If you miss the H2O taxi it's approx. $35 pp for a taxi back. If you want to have nightlife then staying in Tamarindo might be better. PG has a few restaurants/bars within walking distance but is very low key. The Wilmart has supplies as needed. June is the rainy season and it rained from - at least - 5p til the morning. The rain poncho didn't hold up to it. :) We had originally planned on an airport transfer to the Best Western in Tamarindo (seems to be a central location of pick ups/drop offs) and then the water taxi and walk to Casa Camaleon. At the last minute we changed to a private transfer to the apt. It would absolutely NOT have worked to do the H2O taxi and walk with luggage/bags, so keep that in mind if you're thinking that. Sharr responded to email relatively quickly and answered questions we had. Murat has a local phone that you can text/call him on if you get a CR sim card (4G was $4). All in all, it was a great place for us and the description provided was accurate.

Surfer and Beach Goer
If I can surf every day its a day well spent. The ocean is a place that lets you leave feeling new. I cannot live without it.
I am so grateful to have found my home here. It is near perfect paradise!
