My flat is a quick 10 minute subway ride to downtown Manhattan. It's a super comfortable, private, open floor plan loft apartment in a great neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and fun things to do. The apartment has a full kitchen and bath and a queen size bed for two people. There is also a comfortable couch and air mattress which would host up to another three people if they don't mind sleeping on them.

The space

600 + square foot modern, loft / studio close to NYC in the heart of historic downtown jersey city.

Convenient to trains, restaurants, tourism, parks and NYC ferry.

Exposed brick
Exposed beams
Industrial style ceiling
Recessed lighting
Ambient lighting throughout
Stained concrete floors
Industrial style 3 blade ceiling fan
120 inch projection screen

Full kitchen
Bosche dishwasher
Other high end, italian appliances include Smeg gas cooktop and vent

Luxury hotel-like bathroom
Natural slate and marble tile in bathroom
Double length shower
Polk speaker in the bathroom ceiling
Philippe Starck shower fixtures and toilet
Backlit Mirror
Rain shower and wall mounted hand held shower
White Glass counter top with built-in geometric sink
Wall mounted sink faucet
Reclaimed sliding barn door to bathroom hanging on designer hardware

Also in building:

Coin operated laundry

Shared rooftop deck
Great for reading, dinner or drinks with friends

Includes one queen size bed and one couch.

Great alternative to hotels in NYC.

Guest access

The entire apartment with full kitchen, and shared roof deck. Bicycles available for daily use in the city upon request.

Interaction with guests

Guests have access to the entire apartment, including the 120 inch projection screen for unwinding after a long day in the city. I am available via messenger in the airbnb app and my cousin lives in the neighborhood.

Other things to note

* This isn't a big deal but I wanted to note that since the apartment is a loft style unit with exposed AC ducts, the AC vents may seem louder than a typical apartment with AC ducts inside an insulated ceiling. It isn't anything out of the ordinary for a loft apartment but I wanted to disclose this for anyone not used to that.

* Also, the apartment has really great sound proof "city windows" that block practically 99% of outside noise. That said, the unit is on a main street and it can be noisy during rush hour if you open the windows.

Nice flat, very good location with the PATH train, restaurants and bars only minutes away. The equipment and the size is perfect for a couple. Damon always answers the questions very quickly and is very supportive. Thanks for the stay!

Nice place to stay if you are looking for a place close to Manhattan! The apartment is really nice, clean and modern. Lots of places to eat are walking distance and the Path takes more or less 10 minutes to Downtown Manhattan (WTC Station). I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting NY and looking for a comfy place.

Lovely apartment that is tastefully designed & decorated. Air-conditioning works very well and helped us to keep cool at the end of hot summer days. Bit of noise from the streets & aircon did not bother us at all. Some essentials like pots & pans for cooking (very important), iron, TV (with working channels) etc were missing however. Little touches like providing basic condiments would've been nice but hopefully Damon will take a note. Location wise it takes about +30 min (PATH train + metro) to get to Midtown which was little longer than I expected. Otherwise the apartment is close to the train station, cafes & restaurants.

Response from Damon:
Hi Nomin. I hope you had a good trip back to Australia. And thank you for the review and feedback. I’m sorry that your stay was not what you expected. As you mentioned, we both know what happened with the wifi. I truly tried to have it fixed for you and am sorry that I couldn’t do so earlier. I appreciate you acknowledging that I offered some reconciliation. Regarding the distance to New York, yes, midtown is probably 30 minutes door to door. That said, getting to Downtown Manhattan (Freedom Tower, Wall Street Area) is less than 10 minutes once from the Path train. Regarding your note about pots, pans, iron, basic condiments, coffee, tea, dishwasher tablets, etc … my other guests haven’t complained or mentioned that those things were not there. It was my assumption that the apartment had all of those things. I will have to check with the cleaning team about this. I’m honestly shocked to hear this. I wish you mentioned it while you were here. My cousin could have brought replacements over when he was there to meet the internet technician. Again, I’m sincerely sorry that your stay wasn’t what you expected. I hope you still enjoyed your trip to the states and NY.

If you want to pay a visit in NYC, but worry about the heavy traffic, this loft is very suitable for you. Park your vehicle behind the building, easy to take the PATH and enjoy your day in NYC. And after a long day trip, it gives you a very quiet and comfortable place to sleep and relax.

I moved to Jersey City in 1996 and have watched the neighborhood grow into one of the coolest places to live near NYC. The neighborhood is full of restaurants, bars and cafes and is an easy commute to the city. I am a designer, I snowboard and spend most of my time with my wife a…
