The perfect combination of urban living and quiet comfort. You'll have a private room and bathroom in your own wing of the house which offers that extra bit of privacy if you want it. The back patio offers great morning views and a cool place to relax in the evenings to watch the moonrise. In terms of proximity, this house is equally as close to downtown as it is to some top-tier urban trails for running, mountain biking and hiking - an easy basecamp from which to do and see it all!

The space

A private room with a private bath as well. Room features a queen sized memory foam mattress with two large windows that maximize the best morning natural light. Most people say that the combo of that mattress and the golden light makes for the best night of sleep they've ever had. That's no lie! Bathroom features a whirlpool tub/shower and a good sized window for more natural light! Both rooms are located in the upstairs hallway that has its own door that can be shut for more privacy while showering, etc. My bedroom is downstairs in the basement level so bed/bath privacy is maximized for guests in this house!

Guest access

When you're staying, please feel free to come and go as you please. You'll have your own key and there are no curfews or business hours, etc. Also, the kitchen and and other common areas are available to you as if they were your own. Just clean up after yourself as you would in your own home. Many guests set up for work at the kitchen table and there is also a study room with a desk that is available to you, as well. There is also a washer/dryer downstairs in the basement that are available if needed. I also have a full garage so, if you're bringing bikes or other outdoors equipment that is too big to bring into the house, you're more than welcome to make use of that space.

Interaction with guests

Generally, I leave the level of interaction up to you. I really love meeting new people and learning about what you're up to, trading adventure stories and hearing about where you're headed next but if you'd rather keep to yourself, I have no issues with that at all. For you outdoorsy kids, I'm a avid trail runner/cyclist so I'm more than willing to help you make a plan of what you'd like to do/see while in Knoxville if you're looking to get in some outdoorsy playtime. Aside from the Smokies, there are many local outdoor attractions that shouldn't be missed while in the area to include numerous urban trails and parks that are great for MTB and trail running! Also, this area offers some of the best hiking on the east coast. If you're interested on some tips, don't hesitate to ask! For you (URL HIDDEN) place offers easy access to the Obed and I've had several couples come through who took advantage of the climbing access located there. Truly, I encourage you to make this the basecamp for all of your East Tennessee adventures!

Other things to note

I can pretty much accommodate any arrival time after 2pm. Just let me know and we'll work something out.

Luke could be working in hospitality professionally, he is a natural host and the communication leadng up to and throughout the stay was excellent. The house is lovely and has a warm, welcoming feel to it. I slept really well in the very comfortable bed. Luke was very helpful with advice about the area and made himself very approachable while still giving you your privacy. I don't have any negatives about my stay and would look gorward to staying with Luke again.

Luke was a very friendly host! Hospitable and communicative. The bed is very comfy and the space is private with your own bathroom. Quiet neighborhood, very accessible to both downtown and some of the nature that this part of Tennessee has to offer. I would easily stay here again.

Luke and Jess were very hospitable and eager to recommend places to eat and mountain bike. The guest wing is private with a hall door that closes off. It was perfect for us and our two pups. They have one of the most comfortable beds - we slept very well!

I'm a graduate student and currently enrolled in the University of Tennessee Chemical Engineering PhD program. I'm an avid runner and cyclist, so, those looking to get out and about on their bikes or on foot, I've got a pretty solid idea of where to go and what to do! I generally cook and try to eat healthy. I have one cat who generally won't bother you unless you're really good people. :) Other than that, feel free to ask! Cheers!
