This is a lovely private attic conversion the bed was comfortable and the whole place was very clean with a bathroom and lounge, television, fridge and coffee and tea making facilities, there are busses but we used the train which is about a 5 min walk to the station trains are every half hour and takes about half hour to get to Amsterdam central, which was ideal for being nice and quiet but also near to everything, there's local shops and a pub/restaurant 5 mins walk away and the food was good, Hans was an excellent host he made us all feel very welcome in his home the breakfast was lovely every morning and he helped us find out any info to make our trip more enjoyable

Great place to say. Room larger than expected based on photos. The steep steps to the loft are a bit of a shock the first time you go up and down them but you get used to them. Breakfast was amazing, gives you a good start for your day. Neighbourhood was very quiet which was a nice escape from the busy city of Amsterdam. Would highly recommend to anyone

Hans gave us a warm friendly greeting and some good local knowledge for dining and transportation. The accommodation was wonderful and we had a private space although you do need to be good with stairs. First class breakfast that will set you up for the day and the local towns and beaches are beautiful, we had a very enjoyable stay and would visit again

We arrived by train from the airport and had a short walk to the house through a lovely neighbourhood. The directions that Hans provided beforehand were very easy to follow. We arrived earlier than expected and were quite prepared to just leave our bags and wonder around until the room was available but Hans very kindly let us into the room early. He provided us with lots of information, locally and about Amsterdam which was invaluable. The room was better than described, with tea and coffee facilities, a toaster and large fridge. Everywhere was imaculate and it really got our holiday off to a great start. Hans lent us his 2 bikes which we made full use of during our stay. Breakfast in the morning gave us a really good start to the day with boiled eggs, yoghurt, bread and cheese and orange juice. We will return to Holland and would definately like to stay at the house again.

Hans and Marianne were the perfect hosts and Michael and I were so sad to leave! The breakfast every morning was sensational and we really were made to feel looked after and at home. Hans and Marianne are a lovely welcoming couple who kindly lent their museums passes to us which we are so grateful for. I definitely recommends stay here as the location is perfect for couples who want a taste of the city life as well as the seaside. Bloemendaal is so beautiful and the train only takes 20minutes or so to get into Amsterdaam. Will definitely look to booking again one summer :)

It's been the second time we've been living in this really nice quiet town and it's very close to the train station and Hans has helped us a lot and we really appreciate that we have a big breakfast every day

Bloemendaal is in line with its name, which I would translate as ´Flowers Valley´- it is green, nice and safe place to stay. House: it is a nice house and the rooms are fully in line what you can see on pictures. Be careful a bit about staircase, which is in most of houses in Netherland a bit different that usually, so be careful when you step up & down :) Breakfast: Hans served a very nice breakfast, it is a great thing if you want to have a nice start of day, we really appreciated it it, and on top, Hans provided my son with sandwich and orange juice when we arrived a bit later 1st day. It was very kind, i highly appreciated it. Transportation: It is good to keep on mind that if you buy Regional Travel Ticket, it is not valid for connection between Bluemendaal and Haarlem, and you should pay it extra. You can easily reach Amsterdam (appx. 25 minutes) and all nice place around, by train or by bus. From train station it is appx. 7 minutes to walk to get to Hans´s house. If you walk in Bloemendaal, yoi can find really good icecream and pub, however I recommend you to have a dinner in Amsterdam or other place you visit. But it depends very much on individual preference - we preferred to have dinner outside Bloemendaal, I recommend Hans´s house for each traveler who wants to enjoy pleasant stay in quite area full of flowers - if garden was available, it would be absolutely perfect. Thanks for a nice stay!
