Michael's house was great! Better than advertised in the pictures, I'd say. House is unique, charming, perfect for a weekend (skiing) getaway for our group. Kitchen was well equipped and easy to cook in, tons of nicely cut wood for the fire, and we stayed quite warm on a very cold weekend. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

We had the most bucolic, fun, and relaxing week here. The location of the house is ideal, and the setting is gorgeous. Our dogs were in heaven with all of the land and snow and walking trails. The house also has an impeccable selection of old books, stocked with great literature. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The fireplace and the heating work wonderfully, so we were never cold. The steam shower is really soothing after a long day of skiing. There was plenty of space for our party of five. Skiing is 30min away; there is a fun tavern across the river; and Woodstock is 30min away. We were very happy here, and we hope to return. One warning is that the house is very old and dusty, especially with the wood burning fireplace, so if you suffer from allergies, you should definitely bring medicine. Otherwise, the house was incredible.

Emily we're so sorry you had that reaction to the dust! Believe it or not this is the first time we have heard that in 36 years of renting! Michael and Laura

To begin with, the house was amazing. It was better than I could have imagined. The look and feel is very unique, and even though it is only a mile or so off of the main road, it feels like it is very secluded! And to make things even better, Michael is an excellent host. To begin with he went out of his way to make sure the booking we smoothly. Then he did everything possible to make sure I felt welcome and right at home. I would definitely recommend booking with him. I know I will if I am ever in the area again!

The listing does not do this place justice! We had such a wonderful time at Michael's farmhouse. It was clean, cozy and just perfect for our ski weekend getaway. The key exchange could not have been easier and the house had everything you would need. We are definitely coming back!

Secluded and romantic farmhouse on the most beautiful Vermont property--during winter the property was covered in snow and the views of the White River were stunning. Also close to Killington for skiing and the town of Woodstock for a day trip. I brought my girlfriend here to propose over New Years and couldn't have chosen a more special and intimate location (fireside with a bottle of red and an awesome kitchen for cooking). The farmhouse was charming, clean and cozy and met all our expectations. The kitchen was our favorite room in the house. Michael and his family were gracious hosts and stopped by to introduce themselves on the first day. We had a great stay and would recommend the farmhouse to everyone.

We had a wonderful experience at the Farm House. We arrived Friday evening and found the house without difficulty. Although road was steep and snowy, it was well maintained, plowed and sanded. It snowed Saturday night and the road was plowed before we were up Sunday morning. The Farm House was truly a delight. It was comfortable and warm with a great fireplace. The temperature outside was sub-zero, but you would not have known that. The house had every accoutrement we would need. The whole set-up was so well thought out, we marveled at the planning. Sunday morning we took advantage of the 200 acres around the Farm House and skied/snowshoed through the fresh snow. The house was exactly what we hoped it would be. It offered us a chance to relax, enjoy each others company and revel in Nature as well.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! The home was the quintessential Vermont farmhouse. We spent many hours lounging in front of the fireplace and were perfectly cozy in our beds, even in below zero temperatures. The kitchen was spacious and well-appointed and the shower and jacuzzi were great after a day of skiing. And on top of it all, the house had a real charm to it that made us feel right at home. As a host, Michael was gracious, communicative, and flexible. He accommodated our dogs and a late check-out time and gave us a ring to make sure that we were all set and comfortable. Really couldn't have asked for more! Lastly, the property itself is nestled back in the woods and has some great hiking trails nearby. We were also only ~30 minutes to Killington, so very convenient if you're in the area for some skiing. We hope to be back again soon!
