John once stayed up until almost midnight to fix the wifi which really shows that both of them want to make people staying at their place as comfy as possible. Be sure to check the cancellation policy because I have to leave early and I notified them six days before I started staying at their place and still couldn't get a refund, but I only stayed there for a week and it wasn't a lot of money. You do need to allow more time to commute for the most part, and except from that there's honestly no else to complain!

This was the first time i was travelling to the States. My whole time at my host place was very good. Everything was so clean and exactly like described on AirBnb. I had everything i needed there, a very big kitchen to cook and place to wash my laundry. The area was not loud at all and safe. The way to NY was so short. The connection to NY was very good. I loved the house of Shannon and John. It was so familiar to stay with them. Both of them helped me out with everything i needed in my entire stay there. I really loved the book with all the questions and guiding stuff and i appreciate it a lot because both of them put a lot of work in it. I would book my stay again at their place, because i felt so familiar and i really felt like i am staying at home. I really loved it :)

Cute and tiny room but enough to stay and sleep comfortably if you're visiting New York as a tourist. I loved staying at Shannon's place. She and her husband are best hosts I ever stayed with. Quick in responding and absolutely helpful.:) Alina

The room was nice. It's in a great location (3 blocks walking to JFK BLVD) and the bus will take you to Porth Authority so that was a great advantage. It is a shared apartment with other people so you have to be aware of that (I was previously warned from Shannon before booking). The room is very small and warm but comfortable enough for one person, not recommended for two. It has a couple cabinets and hangers to accomodate your belongings. Things that I did not like that much: there were mice traps all over the place. In defense of the property I was warned before booking about the big problem in Jersey with pest control. But seeing all the traps all over the house got me a little freaked out and a little scared I eventually was going to see one of those animals. It is a good choice if you are traveling by yourself and dont want to stay in the big city. It has markets and some restaurants around so that is a big pro. Had a great time in NYC while staying here.

Shannon and John are the best hosts you can wish for and I can highly recommend staying with them! They are always there to answer questions and to help and, besides, we had some pretty nice gatherings with all the people staying with them, you will never feel alone :) I liked my little room, kitchen and bathroom are big enough. As I was always going to Manhattan between 7.30 and 9.00 in the morning, it took me approximately 30-40 minutes to Port Authority, but that did not bother me in the end. I had a great stay and can recommend this room and the hosts fully!
