The space

The house has two floors, a spacious terrace and overlooks the central street of the village, which is paved tortuous and lightly sloping. It has been through a recent renovation, but there was no overturn. It is a 19th century country house and this is what I wanted it to remain: an authentic country house, essential and intimate.
The apartment I propose you is located on the mezzanine level. Fully furnished, with one double bedroom, one kitchen and one tiny bathroom. Furniture is simple and functioning. The apartment has low ceilings and walls decorated with coloured triangles which brighten up the ambient.

Guest access

I want you to know there’s neither television nor internet connection. It may seems like a serious lack, but at the same time it is an excellent opportunity to detoxify from the surfeit of information – and often worries- that assailing us every day. You may feel that need.
To make up for it, I offer you – if you stay at least a week – an anti-stress massage developed by the Institute for Psychosomatic Medicine and practiced from a friend of mine on a regular basis.

Interaction with guests

My sister Tatiana lives in the attic and can teach you the basics of the art of origami. I live in La Spezia, but I will always be available for anything you need.

The neighbourhood

Tendola is a typical village in the heart of Lunigiana, surrounded by greenery, 365 metres high; it belongs to the municipality of Fosdinovo, just 3 km away, which was recently awarded the prestigious Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club.
Tendola is located on the crest of a hill overlooking the magnificent spectacle of the surrounding mountains, the peaks of the Northern Apennines until the Apuan Alps. Landscape, silence and quietness of the place ensures your total relax.
It is perfect for a couple who wants to rediscover the countryside where peace slow down, but don’t think you’re going to be bored.
First of all Lunigiana is the "land of 100 castles", the wonderful Malaspina Castle in Fosdinovo, just 3 miles far from Tendola, the Piagnaro Castle in Pontremoli, Malgrate Castle, Castiglione del Terziere Castle, Brunella Fortress in Aulla and the Eagle Castle in Gragnola, just to mention the main ones.
If you go down to the sea you can easily reach Versilia on the south (Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio, Pietrasanta) and La Spezia coast on the north (Cinque Terre, Lerici, Fiascherino, Portovenere).
If you go up to the mountains, you can reach the charming Carrara Marble Quarries and the numerous trekking routes up to the Apuan Alps.
In practice, you can discover history, sea and mountains of great beauty within 40 km range.

Getting around

If you're not a well-trained cyclist I highly suggest you to come by car or motorbike. You can easily find free parking in Tendola.
To get here take the A12 Genoa-Livorno highway and take the exit Sarzana. Then take Aurelia way and follow the directions to Fosdinovo. When you get to Fosdinovo go down towards Fivizzano and the first village you find on your way is Tendola. From Sarzana to Tendola there are only 12 km.

Other things to note

I'm sorry, but I can accept bookings for a minimum of 2 nights.

The arrival was adventurous driving through the serpentines with beautiful views. We arrived there a bit spontanously but Fabio welcomed us warmly and showed us the apartment and the village. Although it is small it has a great little shop where you can buy regional salame and cheese and a little bar where we drank Cappuccino and joked around with the elderly men from the village. It was a great space to calm body, heart and Soul after visting Bologna and Parma. You can walk a around and enjoy nature but it´s also close enough to visit Cinque Terre. In the evening we had everything to cook Pasta. I would have loved to stay longer. Thank you for everything!

Fabio has tried everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately there were a few technical problems in the house, which caused some trouble. But we are sure those will be fixed until our next stay. Tatiana, who lives in the attic, is a nice and very friendly person. You can ask her anything. The landscape was incredible! Tendola, the small and quiet village is the right place for everyone who's looking for an oasis of calm. Thanks for everything!

Fabio is a great host! He is very hospitable person and even meet us at the evening (because our check-in was a little late, but it wasn't a problem for him), so we didn't get lost. Apartment looks like on the photos, everything was clear and very cozy. You have your own kitchen, so it possible to cook a breakfast. We like it :) If you plan to come by car, it will be better to have GPS (like we did), because the road to mountains is really specific (maybe it looks specific only for people who live so far from mountains like we). Parking is not a problem, it is free and safe. Amazing atmosphere of mountains and history in the air :) We have only good memories of our weekend at Tendola.

Dire cosa mi piace è difficile, i piaceri cambiano di giorno in giorno, di anno in anno.
Come ospito? Sono curioso di scoprirlo.
Di motti non ne ho, sono del parere che non servano.
