The space

The guesthouse is closed off from the main residence by a double-sided locked door. A dedicated central gas furnace heats the entire place, including the bathroom. There are two air conditioners and one is a mini-split with heat and AC functions in the bedroom.
You (and your pet) have your own private entrance and secure, gated yard. The private courtyard has a patio, grass, plants, patio table and chairs, mesh shade covering, water misters, drip water system, lighting, full size gas grill with utensils, brick walls and gate with a tiered fountain with running water...perfect for relaxing. This home features a water harvesting system, use of solar panels, and soft water filtration system. The patio and yard stays 10-15 degrees cooler in the summer because of the shade cloth and the added use of the water misters. Guest house has private washer and dryer and cloths line as well as a drying rack. The yard has solar lights and is well lit with overhead and motion sensor lights at the driveway for safe entry.
Light and airy one-bedroom with queen sized 10" memory foam mattress, 22" to top of mattress, ample double closet space with shelves, table with 24" monitor loaded with a Direct TV, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Disney, and ESPN. We provide a humidifier, clock, noise machine, folding net dryer, USB charger bank, clothes hamper and laundry basket, fan and ceiling fans. The bedroom overlooks the main residence back yard, but you do not any access.
Full bath with glass shower doors, double shower head, fluffy towels and rugs, basic hygiene supplies, hair dryer, and s super large counter for all your goodies.
Full kitchen includes a gas oven/range that works great, microwave, sink disposal, dishwasher and full-sized refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen has under counter lighting as well as track lighting. Included are a coffee maker, French-press, hot water pot, toaster, hot air fryer, blender, mixer, emulsifier, slow cooker, food scale, magic bullet, juicer, mortar/pestle, mini-waffle iron, a complete set of pot/pans and lids as well as pie, cake, bread, and cookie pans. Enough cooking items to cook just about anything and eating utensils to serve four. Coffee Bar provides regular and decaf coffee or tea with large drip, small drip, k-cup, or French press available for your use. Full size gas grill outside. The eating area has a tall table with two chairs and two additional stools that can be used at the table or pulled up to the kitchen counter for use. The kitchen overlooks the main residence backyard that is extremely private for both the guest and the host, but you do not have any direct access.
Living room area has a love seat sofa (with hide a bed...please request additional linens if needed for the pull out bed at time of reservation), with chairs, coffee table with a lift that be used as an additional desk or eating table, side table, ceiling fan, air conditioning unit, a 42" LED TV, Direct TV, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney, and ESPN. Full desk and chair and super fast 1 gigabytes per second wireless internet throughout entire house and USB ports.
Bedroom has a split air conditioning/heater unit and the living room has a separate wall AC unit and both areas have ceiling lights and fans to move the air as needed. We provide a noise machine, humidifier, fan, clock, vacuum, broom/dust pan, iron and ironing board.
South windows get shaded sunlight, north windows overlook backyard of main house and pond but is set up to provide incredible privacy and lovely views of the back patio and fish pond, but no access. The natural light in this space is amazing and its a very quiet space.
Three dogs, chickens (no roosters) are in a completely separate yard on the owner's premises. Mostly they are all quiet except for when a chicken is egg-bragging. Fresh eggs are provided if we have them and basic cooking supplies are provided in kitchen.
We have bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards that can be used for free by guests, but we request you notify us of your intent to use these items upon your reservation and not after arrival so we have time to clean and perform any necessary maintenance. Easy access bike storage space is available for cyclists bringing their own bicycles upon request at time of reservation. Dedicated bicycle path on same road and quick access to Tucson's +147 mile LOOP, which is always expanding.
We are close to several affordable public pools with lifeguards, and public pools are FREE! Visit City of Tucson's pool and splash pads site.
Security cameras overlook the parking area and from within the enclosed yard point towards the front gate and towards the back gate.
Guest access
Complete guest house and private enclosed yard and a parking spot in the main driveway. Added driveway gate for extra security if you choose. Free parking also allowed on street. Bus stops are within one block and house is on a major bike boulevard that connects to larger bike system throughout the city. Our cyclist guests tell we are central to bike all activities. We have an area directly off your private yard that allows storage of your bikes as well.
Other things to note
We are a few houses from a park with new playground equipment and many guests love to walk their dogs there and meet other dog owners. We are on an improved bicycle route that links to other routes around Tucson and you can bike to The Loop within minutes. Bicycles and helmets as well as kayaks and blow up paddle boards are available for use. We are informed by our cycling guest that we are central to all local cycling activities. If you plan to utilize the bicycles, please state your intent upon your reservation so the equipment can be cleaned and maintained appropriately prior to your arrival. Same for paddle boards and kayaks. We cannot guarantee immediate availability if you make a request after you arrive, but we will try to accommodate you.
Occupancy is capped at 2 people and 2 pets. If you require additional linens, please request these at the time of booking. Please do not arrive with more than 2 people or 2 pets without receiving prior approval. Send us a message prior to booking or we may have to charge you additional $15 per person and pet.
