We are disappointed the northeastern sector of Yellowstone National Park will be closed for most of this summer, but Cooke City is still open and we believe you can still have a wonderful time here. YNP is just one segment of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and this cabin provides a perfect hub from which to explore it. You will find hiking trails, campgrounds, funky shops, great restaurants, millions of acres of National Forest all around you. The trails immediately behind this cabin take you straight up into some of the most beautiful mountain country in America. Perhaps now more than ever, it’s a great time to visit the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem: fewer crowds, less traffic, plus you will be supporting small businesses who would welcome your support. We are keeping these idyllic log cabins open for booking at a discounted rate in hopes that we can continue paying our excellent staff, help keep the mom-and-pop diners and shops open, and support our beloved Cooke City, the ideal gateway to your Montana adventures.

This cabin is located in a relatively secluded area just a stone's throw away from the highway. It is the main cabin of the property. In this cabin, there is one lofted bedroom (no door) with a double bed in the upstairs, along with a dresser. There is a second cabin on the property that is listed separately with a queen bedroom loft, kitchenette with stove and fridge, a bathroom and a futon bed in the common area. This cabin is called Hemingway Cabin Yellowstone. If you have a larger group, you can rent both cabins together by messaging us directly and accepting our alteration request (dependent on availability). The cabin conforms to the "tiny house" movement, but is fully equipped and very comfortable. We recommend no more than 2 guests for this cabin. Additionally, the stairs up to the lofted bedroom are quite steep, but there are handles.

There are so many outstanding hiking trails outside the park within walking distance of the cabin and in just a short drive. Just head east of our cabin into Cooke City and beyond and find any of the many tail heads and national forest access.

For Future Travel 2023+; This amazing cabin is one mile from the northwest entrance to Yellowstone National Park! The Lamar Valley is the home of most of the park's wolf population. Crowd size and congestion are lower in this part of the park than at West Yellowstone or Old Faithful. Within half an hour, you will find superb hiking trails at all levels of strenuosity, fishing streams, thermal attractions, plus amenities. If you're just passing through and looking for a single night of accommodation, this is not the best option, but this cabin is ideal for those who want to settle in for a few days and really get to know the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. You can drive into the park at dawn to study wolves and be back at midday for a nap and time on one of three decks with a book or beverage.
