Your own quiet retreat, surrounded by nature, yet surprisingly close to Redmond, Seattle and the mountains. Hike or Mountain Bike on destination trails just up the road. Swim, boat or fish. Relax on the patio or by the gas fireplace. Play a game of cards after a day in the city or on the slopes.

This peaceful getaway is a self-contained unit, with a full, well-supplied kitchen, laundry facilities, very comfortable beds, privacy and quiet.

The space
It's hard to say which is the most wonderful feature of the apartment. Is it the extremely comfortable beds? Is it the friendly living room with its lovely gas fireplace? Is it the spacious layout, with enough room to comfortably hold a large crowd, yet which also has plenty of nooks and corners for privacy and rest?

Or is it the patio? The gardens? The trees? The flowers? The chickens?

Those are all wonderful. But surely the best feature is the lake--Ames Lake, a private, quiet, clean, delightful oasis, home to beavers, eagles, buffle-heads, perch, trout, dragonflies and kingfishers. Internal-combustion engines aren't allowed on the lake, which helps to keep it quiet and peaceful.

If you have a larger party, or want to do an event, you might consider renting the upstairs Master Bedroom Suite, together with the downstairs apartment. It has the same name as this listing, just with "Master Suite" at the end.

Due to the current Coronavirus epidemic, we have raised the cleaning fee to cover the time required for disinfecting between guests. We take cleanliness seriously!

Where you’ll be

Redmond, Washington, United States

Ames Lake is just a short drive from Redmond (15 min), Bellevue or Kirkland (20 min) and a longer drive from Seattle (35-50 min). Many people living here commute to Microsoft and Nintendo. It is close, but feels far away once you get here.
Ames Lake is small - 2 miles around by road, and quiet - no internal combustion engines. It is a great place to swim June-September, and peaceful to sit next to or paddle around year round.
Stores are a short drive away - either to Redmond, Carnation, Duvall or Fall City - as are many excellent restaurants.

As an AirBnB host, sharing the house my family has lived in for over 50 years, it's great to meet people from all over the world. As a traveler myself, I love the unique spaces I get to stay in through AirBnB.

During your stay

I live upstairs, and also rent out the master bedroom of my house through AirBnB (directly above the living room of this apartment). You might come and go and we never see each other, but I'm usually available if you need anything.
