This is a small, economical apartment located in the very heart of the Zona Romantica. The location can't be beat with views of the ocean to the west and a birds eye view of all the comings and goings on the busy intersection of Olas Altas and Rodolfo Gomez. The apartment is very basic with two twin beds in the bedroom at the rear, a small, functional kitchen, and a small living area with simple furnishings (there is a futon for a couch). The best feature is the balcony which provides a spectacular view and endless entertainment watching all of the people below. This apartment is located on the fourth floor of a building with no elevator and only a very narrow windy set of stairs. If you have mobility issues, or get easily winded, this is not the place for you. Also, if this is your first visit to Puerto Vallarta or to Mexico in general, there will be several things to learn and get used to. Like most Mexican kitchens, the stove and oven must be lit manually. The Internet works fine – when it's working. Again, as is typical, it has a tendency to cut in and out. There is a television set, but as far as I could tell, there was no cable service. Do not expect this to be set up like a hotel. Expect to bring your own toiletries, to stop at the corner store for toilet paper, paper towels, extra drinking water, etc. There are plenty of dishes and cookware. There is also an air conditioner in the front room, but it has trouble reaching all the way into the bedroom. We found that if you kept the ceiling fans running and made sure all the curtains were closed during the hottest part of the day, the apartment would stay relatively cool. At night, the windows could all be opened and place would stay very fresh. There can be a lot of noise from the busy streets below, but that's part of the excitement of staying in the center of the action. At the end of the day, it's an incredible value and you get a great leg and butt workout every time you go up and down all those stairs!
