The host very kindly arranged a baby cot for us, since we were traveling with an infant. Gerard greeted us upon our arrival, prepared the cot and made sure we had everything we needed. The flat has window shutters which nicely block off any city lights. The fact that the flat opens to a small courtyard is another advantage since the street itself is quite noisy even late at night. The flat is conveniently located about 20 minutes on foot from Gard du Bored, a few minutes from the metro station and even less from a bus stop. The only drawback is that the area does not seem very safe after dark and it seems to be better not to wander around alone. This Is however something the host has no influence on.

For the price the apartment is fine. A few issues, which are not major but I will mention: we could not enter until a couple of hours after our check in time. Gerard was very apologetic and I understand the previous guests refused to exit on time. It was not such a big deal for us to enter late, however it meant Gerard had less time to turn the apartment over and in particular we realised that the towels that were left out for us were not clean, also the washing machine was not working. We discovered clean towels in a cupboard halfway through our stay. I don't know if the bed sheets were also unwashed? Some little improvements can be made to make the apartment more comfortable, such as replacing the shower-head holder. The one that is currently in the bathroom holds the shower head at such an angle that it is impossible to use without soaking the bathroom! We had to leave the shower head on the floor of the bath and pick it up to rinse ourselves. It would also be nice to clean under the beds every now and then - there was quite a lot of dust. Also, we were told on entering not to use the freezer as it didn't work. No big deal, except that I think the opposite is true! The freezer is at the top of the fridge and we discovered that anything we left on the top fridge shelf became frozen and we had to throw it out. There were no channels available on the TV but luckily we had brought our own Apple TV box. We were only given one front door key, which was fine for us but other guests may find this problematic. The good points were that Gerard was extremely welcoming and helpful. He allowed me to stay late on my final day as there were no other guests checking in. There were store cupboard basics left over from previous guests that we were allowed to use, which was useful. The wifi worked well. There is a supermarket and a metro station very close by. Best of all, the apartment is in a secure complex, with two entry codes so we felt quite safe. It is also quite quiet. There is no air con but two fans were provided. The location of the apartment is not for everyone as it's not central, but for us it was fine as we were there to see shows at the Stade de France (about €10 one way in an uber) I would describe the apartment as fine for the price we paid. It is basic but good value. We were satisfied with our stay.

Response from Lucas:
Bedsheets and towels are always changed between guest and only clean ones provided. The washing machine indeed doesn't work (it will be removed soon), and this is why there is no washing machine listed in the description of the apartment.

There seemed to be a miscommunication between Gerard and Lucas that Gerard was late for 1.5 hours for check in but apart from that, everything else was great. He was really nice and helpful and he explained everything to us. Great location - easy access to metro. Spacious flat in a quiet residential area. There were occasionally a few ants because it is on the ground floor but that wasn't a big problem.

Sorry for the miscommunication and the tardiness for check-in, a small hiccup in communication indeed that happens very rarely and in fact, I hope it won't happen again! Thanks for your understanding and I am glad you enjoyed your stay!

We had a little nice trip to Paris. First of all I want to thank Gerard for welcoming us and showing around the flat. He was really friendly and helpful, giving us tips and ideas where to go and how to travel around Paris. BUT I must say we weren't very pleased with the flat itself. The main issue was that the place wasn't clean enough. - the floor was slightly dirty - dirty pillow cases - not so fresh towels - there was a damp smell in a flat On our last night we were bothered by the weird noise coming from the ceiling ( I just hope it wasn't a mouse running around ) Overall we had a place to stay, a hot shower and all the things needed in the kitchen that we are grateful for. Paris was good!

Myself & and three adult friends stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. The apartment is small but has everything you need. We shared the bed and fold-out sofa between the four of us, and it worked out very nicely. Lucas is very quick to respond to messages and always happy to help, and Gerard who met us at the apartment explained everything well. We walked to three nearby stations - Marx Dormoy, La Chapelle and Gare Du Nord - depending on where we were going each day. Gare Du Nord is 1.2km away, but that's only 15-20 minutes walk, depending on whether you're tired and loaded with luggage or not. Overall, this was a great little place to hang out between our Paris adventures and we will happily book here again if we ever return!

Good Communication Good Check in Convenient location near Gar du Nort Once checked in a lot of problem: 1) Cleanliness: the house was not as clean as expected. Lots of hair and dust in both bed sheets and towel. On top of that the shower was not perfectly clean and there was mold on the walls 2) Functionality: the hot water was not enough for 4 people, as a result we had to have cold shower 3) Mouse in the apartment: 1 mouse entered the apartment and there was NO HELP at all from the host. Starting from the fact that is disgusting to have such animals in an apartment, it s also very dangerous as they can spread diseases Overall not a nice Airbnb experience

Response from Lucas:
Antonia was very unlucky as her stay happened during an unprecedented flood in Paris. Ground floor apartment were the most disturbed by the event. Apparently rodents took refuge in the ground floor apartment. Of course we were very sorry this happened and are confident it won't happen again. We improved the level of cleanliness. We offer Antonia a refund for the unpleasant experience.

Hello,

I originally came on Airbnb to help my mom rent our family cottage house in Normandy. I loved the Airbnb experience, including when I tried it as a guest. So it was only natural that when I moved to live in Hong Kong I decided to rent my Parisian flat on Airbnb. I live back in it when I return to Paris.

My good friend Gerard will welcome you and take care of you during your stay in Paris.

I am a professional photographer. You can see my photos online by searching "Pictobank" on the Internet.

I love meeting people of all around the world.

Lucas

Bonjour,
