The space

Room with comfortable (double) bed and plenty of storage.

Suitable for most business people and tourists. There is a flat-top cushion and a small table in the room for a laptop, or you can use the kitchen table when it is not being used to eat off.
If you have any queries before booking just ask!

NEW YEAR FIREWORKS!!! The traditional New Year London Firework display along the Thames is now ticket-only. I have three tickets available to guests staying over that period.

Great for exhibitions and events at ExCel Centre

IF THE DATES YOU WANT ARE MARKED AS NOT AVAILABLE it's still worth enquiring as I have another room with a single bed - scroll down to the bottom of the Listing page and you will find a link there.

Room with comfortable double bed and a variety of shelves, drawers and hanging space for storage.
There is your own mini-library, too.

Relaxed vegetarian/ non-smoking household in a truly multi-ethnic area.
Please read that again.
If you are not comfortable with any of the above statement, please do not book with me.

Use of the kitchen, sitting room, the garden and of course the yoga studio.

Cotton bed linen for comfort, and spare duvets for those who wish to be extra cosy.
Towels and hairdryer provided, and slippers for use in the house.
Adaptor plugs for both European and American electrical items are in the room, and there are shaver points both upstairs and downstairs.

Shared bathroom on ground floor (second toilet/ handbasin next to your room)
Cooking facilities and washing machine in the kitchen.

A simple HELP YOURSELF breakfast of cereals/muesli, toast (homemade wholemeal bread and a selection of jams and spreads) and fruit juice is included in the price.
The kitchen has tea and coffee for you to help yourself to whenever you like.

Nearest tube is Upton Park on the District Line and Hammersmith and City Line. A walk or about 5 or 6 minutes.
Good transport links to central London and Airports, especially City Airport.
It is an easy journey to connect with Eurostar to Paris and Brussels.

Convenient for :-
the O2 ARENA in Greenwich

ALL THE MAJOR TOURIST SITES are within easy reach by a variety of transport links - usually taking about 35 -50 minutes depending on where you are going.

There are two night buses which stop 10-15 minutes walk away.

A few minutes away from a lively, genuinely multicultural shopping area.
An abundance of restaurants providing the best of North and South Indian food and many others from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Iran and more.

A short bus-ride, or 35 min walk from Westfield Stratford City, Europe's largest shopping centre.

West Ham Park is 10mins away, with landscaped gardens, football and cricket pitches and plenty of space to run.
There are longer walks in Epping Forest within easy reach by tube.
Especially rewarding are the walks along the nearby Greenway and the canal tow-paths from where you can see unexpected glimpses of architecture and wild life and see how work on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is progressing. These also make good cycling routes.

Lovely yoga room for those who would like to practise yoga or meditation.

In good weather the garden is lovely to sit in.

When enquiring about the room, please add a few words about yourself and why you are coming to London.
It is best to enquire and WAIT FOR MY REPLY before booking. That way we can both avoid disappointments.

Although I put that check-in is flexible, do let me know when you enquire if you likely to arrive at unsocial or unusual times. I will do my best to accommodate your itinerary, but please understand this is my home, and I work both at home and in various other locations.

Guest access

Breakfast is provided - help yourself to Muesli/cereals/porridge, fruit juice and homemade wholemeal bread. Various jams. spreads and marmalade are for your use, many of them homemade, too.

Teas and coffee are available for guests to make for yourself in the kitchen at any time. If you prefer non-dairy milk please let me know in advance.

There is space for guests to store food in the fridge, freezer and cupboard so you can cook your own food if you wish.

Please do not cook meat in the house.

There are plenty of books in the sitting room and on the landing, and boxes of leaflets of things to do, places to go, in and around London both in your room and in the kitchen. Large scale A-Z maps for your reference can help you plan your visit.

The only time the yoga room is out of bounds is when I am teaching in there. You could, of course, join the class.

In the summer the garden is great to sit in - there's a seat at the end, and rugs for the grass area.

Interaction with guests

I live and work in the house, so generally I am available to answer any questions and give advice about transport, venues, etc. as required.
The kitchen has a good table for sitting at and chatting. It can be used for study, too, when not being used for food.
At other times I'll be busy or out of the house. so guests have the place to themselves.
Sometimes it's nice to share food, and who can resist a slice of bread still warm from the oven?

The neighbourhood

Truly multi-ethnic with tolerance and respect between different races and religions. A wealth of sights, smells and tastes every time you leave the house and yet very often the loudest sound is that of birds singing.
It is easy to get into central London, but my favourite round trip is much closer - a canal walk, cake and coffee overlooking the Olympic Stadium, walk along the Greenway, drop down into the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and stroll around the Wetlands, then up into Westfield for some retail therapy or a film.

Getting around

Easy links with the District Line, the Hammersmith and City Line, the Central Line and the Jubilee Line.
There are two Overground routes within easy reach, a third only a few stops away.
Connection to the various DLR routes is likewise very straightforward.
Many buses are within a few minutes from the house going in many different directions, including to Canning Town and Stratford where connections to Central London can be picked up.

Other things to note

The rail lines and stations in London are constantly being worked on. This means that sometimes one or more routes is unavailable at the weekends. I will do my best to let you know if you are likely to be affected during the dates you wish to book, but you might like to check yourself as well.

This is a lovely, friendly place on a quiet residential street in East London, 10 minutes walk from the nearest Tube station, and it was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay, thanks Cryn!

You wanna stay where you are welcome, have nice conversations and love clean vegetarian food? At Cryns home u will get all these things. I was there for upw-event by Tony Robbins at the ExCel London. It took only ~ 25-30 min to be there. Even the nights were short, my sleep was deep, recovering and thanks to the new windows it was quiet. Cryn is a really nice woman who will help you as she can.

I had a wonderful stay at Cryn's lovely place. Super cosy, and Cryn herself was very friendly and helpful. All kinds of useful little things were provided, like maps, information and even charger adaptors. Not to mention the delicious homemade bread for breakfast! Close to public transport (tube, bus) as well. I would highly recommend staying here for a visit to London - whether you'll be exploring the city or attending an event at the ExCel convention centre, you won't be disappointed. Especially highly recommended if you're vegetarian or vegan.

Cryn was a perfect host and her home was warm, clean and welcoming. Even though I was only there for one night I had the opportunity to talk at length with Cryn and another guest on a number of interesting topics. I look forward to staying with her again when I return to London.

My mum spent a lovely weekend at Cryn's place while visiting London and felt very comfortable and well looked after. The room and house offered everything she wanted, and the tube station is just a few minutes' walk away. Cryn is a relaxed, friendly host, flexible and accommodating, always ready to help with tips and directions. Home-made bread and jam were a delicious bonus!

Cryn User ProfileCryn is a superhost.

My time is divided between Yoga, gardening and occasionally making theatrical costumes and other clothes. Trips to the countryside and abroad and visits to an extensive family keep me busy too.
Sharing my house and garden with visitors to London is a great pleasure.
