We stayed at Old Keepers Cottage for just one night on our way through Bideford whilst doing the Devon Coast to Coast cycle with our 13 year old daughter. The house, bedroom and facilities were all superb, with the house being in the most stunning location with incredible panoramic views of the river estuary below. This is a lovely family house, oozing with charm and family history and clearly a very happy home. Lucy could not have been more helpful (and even came to give us and our bikes a lift up the hill back to the house, with car and trailer, to save our very tired legs!), along with a lovely 'extra' bed provided in our room for our daughter. Communication from our initial enquiry to the moment we left was excellent. By the time we left we felt we had made a great friend and sad not to have had more time to chat more! Breakfast was wonderful - full English with lovely local produce and porridge, yoghurts and home grown fresh fruit (strawberries and raspberries) to accompany - all sitting at a wonderful dining table and looking at that incredible view! Our beds were extremely comfortable in our very pretty 'Garden Room'. Lots of fluffy towels as well as bath robes were also provided. We could not fault the house, service, cleanliness or Lucy's very warm hospitality and would highly recommend anyone to stay here. We would love to return another time - but perhaps without the bikes! (but we did make all 105 miles from Ilfracombe to Plymouth!). Thank you, Lucy! Best wishes, Lizzie, Anthony and Beatrice

My husband Geoff and myself have lived here for 30 years and have always had a very busy household with 3 daughters (and lots of their friends) growing up plus their ponies, dogs & cats.

Now that our youngest daughter has left home, I felt that the house was much too quiet and decided to open our home to visiting guests.

We have recently joined airbnb on the recommendation of a friend and our first guests came earlier this year and I am really enjoying being a hostess ! I love meeting people and want to ensure that all guests have a wonderful break whilst they are with us and are thoroughly spoiled.

The things I love are family life, long walks, cutting the grass, music, books, cooking, chocolate - me in a nutshell.
