Häradssätter Gård is a small farm just ten minutes from the coast in Valdemarsvik. We offer accommodation with all the amenities in a picturesque and tranquil environment.
The old cottage is located centrally on the farm but in undisturbed surroundings. You're close to nature, with wildlife in the forest, grazing animals in the pasture, and chickens and peacocks roaming freely.
The cottage is a good choice if you’re looking to relax and unwind or stay active with swimming, fishing, and hiking.

The space
The cottage makes the most of its compact space (37 sqm), featuring a living room, fully equipped kitchen with dining area for four, sleeping alcove, bathroom with shower, and a separate laundry room accessible from outside. There’s also a cast iron stove for cozy evenings.

The cottage is ideal for a couple or a small family. The sleeping alcove has a double bed (160 cm) suitable for two people. If you’re more than two, the sofa bed offers two additional sleeping spots.

At the front, you’ll find a furnished patio with a barbecue and a hammock. The lake with a swimming pier, rowing boat, canoe, and fishing is just a short walk away.

Please note: the 18th-century charm also means low ceilings — only 189 cm from floor to ceiling.

The cottage has fast Wi-Fi and a TV with Chromecast.

ESSENTIAL AMENITIES
We provide you with dishwashing liquid, hand soap and an initial supply of toilet paper (bring your own if you are staying longer than 2 days.)

BRING YOUR OWN BED LINEN & TOWELS
In the rental rate bed linen and towels is not included. We can provide you with bed linen and towels for a small fee of 150 SEK per person, just tell us before your arrival.

CLEANING
Cleaning at departure is not included but the cottage is easy to clean and everything you need to do so is provided for you. If you don't have time or you're not in the mood for cleaning? We get it – a departure cleaning service is available for a fee of 1200 SEK.

You can book our cottage all year round for but during July and August we rent out the cottage for a full week only with arrival and departure on Saturdays.

Feel free to roam the farm and stroll in the surrounding woods . You have free use of bikes, the rowing boat and canoe by the lake. Bikes, rowing boat and canoe are shared with other guests at the farm.

Other things to note
We have free ranging animals on the farm - chickens, turkeys, peacocks and cats - they are all friendly, but mind your children so they do not stress them out.

We have two very friendly farm dogs that walk freely on the farm. Ellie, the black lab loves people and other dogs, but most of all she loves to play. She might come by and ask for you to throw a stick or steal your shoes to get you to chase her. Bonnie is more of a working dog that keep our animals safe. She barks a bit but is very friendly too and easy to bribe :-)

Mind the electric fences that surround thepatures where the animals graze. They can give you an unpleasant dart if you are not careful.

Where you’ll be

Just beyond our woods you can find lovely hiking trails, notably Östgötaleden. Take a leisurely stroll or go for a real hiking adventure along the 1200 km long trail.

In Valdemarsvik (9 km away) you'll find all necessary facilities like shops, restaurants, banks, Systembolaget (liquor store) and the tourist centre.

The archipelago of Gryt and Tjust in Valdemarsvik are only 28 km away and offer a great day out! There you can enjoy some of Sweden’s mot unspoiled islands, perfect for swimming, sunbathing and fishing. If you fancy some golfing you can visit a beautiful 9-hole golf course in Gryt.

The idyllic small town of Söderköping is about 25 minutes away and well worth a visit.

Kolmården, Sweden’s largest wildlife park is about 90 km away from Häradssätter.

You can take a daytrip to In Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby (90 km away) and meet the much loved storybook characters.

We left the big city a few years back for a country lifestyle. We fell in love with Häradssätter's incredible views, ancient oak trees and amazing gardening possibilities. Our goal is to have a small hold with chicken, peacocks, goats, horses and other grazing animals to keep the pastures open.
