Enjoy staying in my second floor light filled apartment in a family owned and occupied renovated 3 apartment brownstone on friendly block in Brooklyn. Just 5 minutes from the G subway @Myrtle-Willoughby, it is convenient to NYU, The New School, Pratt Institute and BAM. Herbert von King Park is a 10 minute walk.

The space
A 800 sq. ft. one bedroom apartment with living room on the street side (south); the bedroom overlooks the back garden. The living and bedroom each has three 6’ x 3’ windows with Venetian blinds. The well equipped kitchen and bathroom are located in the middle of the apartment. Views to street and back garden are filtered by trees. If you work at home, there are two large work surfaces - a table in the bedroom and the dining room table. The décor is simple: white and yellow walls, polished oak floors. There is easy access to the apartment : one flight of stairs from street level to front door and another flight to the second floor. There are three apartments in this family owned and occupied house. There are AC units in the living room and bedroom.

Guest access
Laundry can be done half a block away. A drop off laundromat is five blocks away at Nostrand and Clinton. There is an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, wardrobe hanging space and a closet for use by guests.

Other things to note
Notes will provide a list of local and nearby supermarkets. You can pick up a coffee and croissant on the way to the subway at the Marcy St cafe. The Lincoln Market is three blocks away. There are many choices if you want to order in from a local restaurant.

Neighbourhood highlights

Old style neighbourliness prevails on our block. The neighborhood
is not gentrified - yet, and as a traditional Bed Stuy street it may not be as clean as your suburban street. There is a Lincoln Market three blocks away, various bodegas, some good coffee shops, a handy Duane Reed pharmacy, but Bed Stuy isn't the upper West Side.

If you decide to stay in my apartment, it will be because you like the look of the apartment and its proximity to the subway, and because you like authentic, gritty, diverse, mixed income neighborhoods.

We like our neighborhood a lot, and after 10 years we have had no safety issues, day or night. The block has lots of new trees, planted as part of Bloomberg's One Million Trees program. We are members- and enjoy the Vernon Cases Community garden on the block.
