About this listing
Best of both: central Williamsburg address for heading out, and the perfect amenities for staying in.
Two bdrm, one and a half bath family condo with lofted ceilings, generous kitchen, and Steinway baby grand is perfect for families.
The living space is centered around what matters to us, and we hope matters to you: music, cooking, and conversation. The open kitchen is great for shared meals and has a rare asset in Brooklyn: counter space for prep. We are a native New York family and dedicated musicians and so our Steinway baby grand replaces the flat screen TV and has been in our family for three generations. With two small children of our own, we know how tough travel can be and wanted to offer a family friendly environment already stocked with toys, books, and a twin size bunk bed for two. But if you've left the kids at home, there is still plenty of sophistication in the master bedroom with private bath and extra large tub, the duo balconies with french doors and sitting area and modern appliances to host an elegant dinner party.
Our home is split into two mirrored halves connected by a private hallway. You'll have complete access and privacy to one half/full apartment, including everything mentioned here: two private balconies.
Interaction with guests
To comply with new Airbnb rules in NY either we or another family member will be staying in our connecting apartment. You'll have the same privacy as advertised but someone will be nearby to help with any issues, repairs, questions etc. We will be available but out of the way unless needed.
It doesn't get much better than Williamsburg in the summer. On the southeast side of the neighborhood, you are in the heart of a thriving restaurant scene, boutique retail shopping, and fabulous coffee shops, bars, and bakeries. You are also a few blocks off from the crowd on Bedford but not so far you can't join the street shopping or duck into one-of-a-kind antique shops, Brooklyn only products, and artisanal, hand made gifts great for bringing home--and great live music.
Our condo is also right next door to some neighborhood favorites: The Roebling Tea Room on Metropolitan and Roebling, Walter Foods, Williamsburg's new state of the art cinema, and many other new finds and old secrets that we'll have listed for you in our "Favorites" welcome package.
Walking is the best way to see the neighborhood but it's just as easy to flag down a taxi or take the L train just 1 stop into Manhattan. There is also wonderful waterfront shops and the famous Smorgusboard food and art fair on the weekends. From the pier, you can take a ferry into the city or explore Governor's island. The J train is also close by if you're planning on heading into Soho or lower Manhattan.
Other things to note
The Crate & Barrel sofa also folds out to a queen size bed. All linens will be provided.
This is our home, and our children's home. We want you to enjoy our space and our neighborhood, but please treat it with respect. Please let us know of any needed repairs or big clean-up jobs, or simply if we need to restock basics while you're on a longer stay.
This is a shared building so please be respectful of our neighbors above and below. We'll be across the hall in the apartment's duplex if you need anything.
Any additional guests arriving mid-trip should be approved first. We want to keep the traffic low for everyone's enjoyment!
Please don't bring the party home or smoke in the apartment.
Housekeeping: please turn off AC unit when you leave apartment.
