Sorry to hear you seem to have had less than an enjoyable experience in Mazunte. I do appreciate the kind words about the house. As you booked and stayed for New Years eve, and presumably informed yourself about Mazunte and knew it is a very popular tourist location, one should expect "throngs" of tourists ("hippy gringos" &/or otherwise). Perhaps a more secluded location would be more your style. I would like to address three comments you made about the house/host:
1. We do note that the house is located close to everything, in no way do we lead the guest to believe this is a secluded beach house.
2. The rate of the house at New Years (high season) is in line with other homes of this quality in Mazunte and environs. It can accommodate 4 people comfortably. This is quite a deal at 625 pesos/person at New Years, 2500 pesos for the entire home (lower at other times of the year).
3. Marcela responded to your multiple questions concerning "planning". Mazunte is a laid back town and your requests about events and reservations, to the degree you may have wished, may not apply.
I do appreciate your feedback. Again, sorry to hear Mazunte was not a fit with your expectations.
