Comfort and seclusion in a beautiful Up-North Michigan setting. Centrally located to the must-see sites in the northwestern part of the state, including Traverse City, Charlevoix, Torch Lake and Petoskey. Beaches, golf and hiking nearby.

The space

If you are looking for a natural lakefront setting, with modern comforts, this is it. ENJOY secluded lakefront on Wilson Lake on the upper Chain of Lakes. Fully furnished newer four-bedroom home.

We made a lot of improvements in 2016 to provide a more attractive environment and a better experience for your stay. We recently replaced the carpet with hardwood flooring and installed granite counter top in the kitchen and new stainless kitchen appliances, including gas range.

Each bedroom has a Queen-sized bed - with a futon bed in the lower level. There are two full baths, with a large recreation room and pool table in the walkout level.

The property includes large covered deck overlooking the lake. A large patio sits below, with patio furniture and barbecue. Don't forget the hammock under the trees.

The many amenities include free use of a canoe and kayak - get on the water. Or bring your kayak! The upper Chain of Lakes links 7 lakes with miles of waterway. Bring your fishing pole. This is a popular fishing area with many varieties. Dock your boat. All Sports Lake. Enjoy the new Fire Pit area with brick pavers.

Lake Michigan beaches are only 15 minutes away. Charlevoix is 15 minutes away.

Popular restaurants (The Rowe Inn and Blue Pelican) are minutes away. Plenty of Golf Courses are nearby. A great place to RELAX! We now have satellite TV and flat screen TV.

Premium Days: There is an additional $100 charge for reservation covering a national holiday: Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day.

Guest access

There are four bedrooms with queen beds a futon on the lower level (full size). Some rooms are locked and private.

Guests are allowed the use of the canoe or kayak on the premises. Guests are required to wear life jackets provided. No more than 2 people in the canoe at any one time. Guests are responsible for damage or loss of canoe, kayak or equipment, including paddles.

You will have direct access to all-sports Wilson Lake on the Upper Chain of Lakes.

We limit rentals to longer stays during the summer months (Minimum 5 days) and cleaning fee will be adjusted to reflect the shorter stay.

There is a $125 cleaning fee for the weekly rental. Shorter stays will have a one-time cleaning fee, as well, which will be adjusted based on the length of stay.

REPAIRS AND SERVICE CALLS: Owner cannot guarantee against breakdown of air conditioning or other appliances. Please report any non-operative equipment promptly. Owner will make every effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. Should a repairman make a call and find that the equipment is in working order and the problem was due to Guest oversight or neglect, the charge for the service will be deducted from the damage deposit. No partial or entire rental refunds will be made due to failure of air conditioning, other appliances or other items beyond our control (such as bad weather, construction in the area, or home not furnished to personal tastes)

MAINTENANCE OF RENTAL: There is to be no grilling on the decks. Please keep the grill at least three feet from the wood decks and house. Guest is to keep the property clean, safe and sanitary; dispose of all rubbish, garbage and other waste in a clean and safe manner; keep all plumbing fixtures clean, not deliberately or negligently destroy, deface, damage or remove any part of the property or render inoperable the smoke detectors, be responsible for all damage, defacement or removal of any property inside the property. Please extinguish all fires in the fire pit after use. Please do not place feminine products or paper towels or wipettes in the toilet - because it will clog the septic system.

NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate.

NO SMOKING: This is a No-Smoking home. Guest’s breach of this provision shall be considered material, and shall result in the termination of Guest’s tenancy and an additional cleaning fee will be charged to cover the cost of smoke removal and any damages incurred.

NO PETS: No pets shall be allowed on the premises unless otherwise specifically permitted in this Agreement. Guest’s breach of this provision shall be considered material, and shall result in the termination of Guest’s tenancy and the security deposit will be forfeited.

No house parties, fraternities, school, civic groups allowed unless prior approval is received from the Owner. Owner reserves the right to refuse rental to groups with majority under 25. ID’s must be furnished upon request. Violation of the above is grounds for expedited eviction without refund.

DEPARTURE CLEANING: Guests are asked to leave the home in the same condition as it was found. Guest’s responsibilities when leaving are to: tidy and straighten home, place all remotes on table in living room, remove food from refrigerator and freezer, wash and replace dishes, silverware, pots & pans in proper place, wash, dry and fold any rented towels or linens, clean grills if used, close and lock all windows & doors, close curtains but leave blinds open, turn off all lights inside & outside, leave all keys in the lock box on the side porch, remove garbage from the house and place in an outside receptacle in the shed against the side porch.

Returnable bottles and cans are to be returned to the store and not placed in trash. Trash bags should be limited to 30 gallon bags to fit into trash containers. Burnable trash should be burned in the fire pit. All trash must be placed into plastic trash bags and not directly into trash containers. Do put trash in paper bags. There will be a damage charge if the owner needs to repackage trash into plastic trash bag.

The house is inspected after every departure and Guests may be charged for additional cleaning if home is left excessively dirty or Guest fails to meet the listed requirements.

PERSONAL PROPERTY: Owner cannot be held responsible for personal property during Guest stay, or items left behind following departure. Please call Owner immediately to report items Guest have left and Owner will make every effort to locate them.

LINENS: Linens and towels are not provided. Guests are required to bring linens. A limited supply of paper products is provided, as are dish soap. Guest is responsible for additional paper products as needed.

CANOE: Guests are allowed the use of the canoe or kayak on the premises. Guests are required to wear life jackets provided. No more than 2 people in the canoe at any one time. Guests are responsible for damage or loss of canoe, kayak or equipment, including paddles.

The Guest understands that the accommodation is privately owned and the Owner is not responsible for providing any additional furnishings or equipment not available presently on the premises. Certain areas, such as locked closets are reserved for the exclusive use of the Owner and will not be available for the use of the Guest. All décor and service items in the home are privately owned and provided. Please respect them as Guest would Guest own property. DO NOT REARRANGE FURNISHINGS OR LEAVE ANY FURNISHINGS OUTDOORS (EXCLUDING DECK FURNITURE).

The house is just as described. It is lovely. The back porch is where we spent almost all of our time. And the location is great-15 minutes from so many different things. It's a gorgeous area of the country.

We loved the very nice space. The balcony was most enjoyable and the cable tv and air conditioning was a nice surprise for an up north rental. Our family vacation was filled with fishing, food, games and boating. We highly recommend this air b n b!

The house is beautifully situated on a quiet place at the lake. The view on the lake is stunning, both from the balcony as the spacious garden. It is only a 10-minute drive to Lake Charlevoix, which we visited often. The house is spacious and comfortably houses 8 people. As we were traveling from Holland we couldn't bring linens and towels, but Bart was very helpful with arranging that for us. The only thing we were missing is the WiFi, although that was clearly stated in the description. All together, I would definitely recommend this house if you're looking for a relaxed location with a lot of space and privacy.

The Ellsworth Lake House made the perfect home away from home. We had everything we needed. We were able to cook all our meals there. The kitchen was a little small for 2 families, but well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Nice pool table. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Kids liked playing in the sand, there is no swimming, but kids did like getting their feet wet in the edge of the lake. Close enough drive to torch lake. We would highly recommend this home.

I couldn't more highly recommend Bart's lake house. The home itself is beautiful, comfortable, and ideally located. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the region, especially for a family trip, this is the place.

we were very happy with the cottage and location. the decks especially were lovely since several of the guests were elderly. We did not use the living room, reading room nor the rec room, going from Kitchen to decks to dining table!
