My most beautiful and luxurious experience in Costa Rica

This is a great property and location for activities in and around Arenal - everything is as described in the listing. The views from hike up the road from the house are amazing. Everything is like described in the listing. The local hosts know English well and are very helpful. El Castillo feels like a true local/Costa Rican village - not touristy. If renting a car, get an SUV or 4WD - some of the roads are rough in the area.

A perfect place to stay in Arenal! Not for the faint hearted driver however. Get a 4wd and be prepared for some fantastic steep hills and views. We loved Patricia's place and would stay again! We had fresh baked bread from the neighbor and sat on the patio enjoying the bird watching.

We stayed in this charming house with our three children (7 year old twins and a 9 year old). The house is beautiful, the grounds are lush and tropical, and the view of Arenal Volcano is fantastic. The layout of the home was perfect for our family and our kids loved the hammocks in the gazebo. We would absolutely stay here again. However, please realize that the home is outside of La Fortuna and the roads are unpaved and unlit at night. Travel between La Fortuna and El Castillo is slow and El Castillo is a very small town. You will want to make sure you have gas, groceries and cash before leaving La Fortuna. There are a number of restaurants in El Castillo and the kitchen at this home is well-stocked and has amazing views if you choose to cook.

We loved our stay at Villa Millon. A beautiful home with amazing views, cool breezes, lovely garden with hammocks to rest and read in. Erica was quite helpful and ready to help with what we needed. Highly recommended for a stay near the volcano.

Patricia's home is lovely and very well appointed! The beds are extremely comfortable El Castillo is convenient to activities and Erika was very helpful in booking the hot springs for us. We took the hike just up the road to the waterfalls. Well worth the effort of the strenuous walk up the mountainside. You can do it by horseback. Patricia was great with communications and directions! We will be back to Costa Rica and will hope Patricia's place is available again! Thanks!

I love being active and love to travel. I fell in love with Costa Rica - Specifically the Arenal Area as El Castillo is approximately 2000 feet above sea level in the rain forest where the temperature is moderate 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit with cooling breezes and beautiful countryside.
I cannot live without bicycling, skiing, my friends, my husband, books and Television - Almost but not necessarily in that order.
The most unforgettable book that I have ever read is The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I love the Ender series by Orson Scott Card. My favorite adventure and espionage writer is Nelson Demille because he interjects humer into his main characters. I loved the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon about life in Scotland during its revolt with England and the early days of the settlement of America all combined with time travel.
Two of my most favorite travel destinations are Italy and Costa Rica and when I go I like to join bicycling tours and see the country by bike.
One of my favorite book series and movies was the Hunger Games. I loved the movies Top Gun and also Knights Tale and I mustn't forget The Princess Bride.
I am still a rock music enthusiast as it is very good listening for Biking, skiing and rollerblading. I also like Pucini Operas.
I have to confess that I am a gluttin for carbs which I must reduce at my age and have gotten into juicing. My favorite juice is Banana, green grapes, Orange, pineapple, spinach, slice of lime and crushed ice.
As your Airbnb host I will provide you with a cozy environment that I would live in (and I have). I supplied and decorated the house in a style and comfort pleasing to me as if I were to live there. The renting of my vacation home is a work in progress, and I am open to any and all suggestions because my aim is to ensure my guest's comfort and enjoyment.
