Some info has been automatically translated.
Enjoy a bright and atypical room, with office space and mezzanine, in a welcoming apartment with a modern and open design.

PLEASE NOTE: The bed is located on the mezzanine and is accessible by a Japanese-style staircase. This room is therefore recommended for guests in good physical condition. We do not recommend it for the elderly or those who may need to get up frequently at night.

The space
It's a unique place: we'll give you a bottle of champagne if you can find a similar apartment in Prague.

Our apartment is a friendly living space with a modern and open design. The main space includes a large living room with a fireplace, perfect for relaxing. The highlight is our magnificent 30m2 terrace, a true hanging garden with roses and herbs, ideal for having breakfast or dinner at sunset.

YOUR PRIVATE ROOM

Your private room is an artistic and bright space thanks to its five windows, perfect for young couples or creative souls. It is arranged on two levels:

- On the ground floor: an office area with a small table, a chair, an armchair and a mirror.
- Upstairs: accessible by a Japanese staircase, your bed is nestled under the stars, at the level of the terrace, offering you absolute tranquility.

The decor is carefully chosen, with a suzani from Uzbekistan, art magazines and photos by a famous Czech photographer.

Note:
- the work table is a jan (an old tric-trac table) on which you can play backgammon
- Towels are provided

COMMON SPACES

You will have access to several common areas designed for your comfort:

- Fully equipped kitchen: You will find a premium oven (with steam and vacuum cooking functions), glass-ceramic hobs, a blender, a food processor, a freezer, a Saccho coffee machine, and a dishwasher. A refrigerator is exclusively reserved for guests and basic products (sugar, salt, spices, oil, vinegar) are provided.

- The shared bathroom: To be shared with the occupants of two other rooms, it is equipped with a bathtub, a walk-in shower, a washing machine and a dryer. You will also find a first aid kit or a hair dryer. Washing machine detergent. The 2 toilets are separated.

- The romantic terrace: Our roof garden is at your disposal for moments of relaxation. It's also a space where you can smoke.

NOTE:

- There is no microwave in the kitchen

- In the morning, you should find everything you need in the kitchen to prepare a very good French breakfast at the time that suits you: bread from the best bakery, butter, jams (often homemade) and sometimes homemade cakes

Guest access
Our apartment, located in a 19th century building, occupies the entire top floor under the roof, and is distinguished by its charm and unique layout. It is organised into four rooms, arranged to offer both privacy and conviviality.

A SPACE DESIGNED FOR SHARING:
The apartment is divided into two distinct wings:

- The wing dedicated to our Airbnb guests: It includes three lockable bedrooms, as well as a shared bathroom and toilet, reserved for our guests.

- Our private wing: We live there and have our own bathroom and toilet.

A COMMON HEART FOR EXCHANGES:
The living room, kitchen and access to the private rooftop garden are in the central part of the apartment, which connects the two wings. This space, which we consider the backbone of our home, is entirely shared between us and our guests.

A PHILOSOPHY OF HOSPITALITY AND LIVING:
Our apartment is not a classic accommodation: it was specially designed to be shared 18 years ago and we have been sharing it for 18 years. We are committed to creating an atmosphere where everyone feels free and comfortable to use the common areas, as if they were at home.

During your stay
We like to welcome you ourselves to give you a quick tour of the apartment, to explain where the essential amenities are and how they work, and to save you time and make you feel right at home. This is also an opportunity for us to meet you, to be able to respond to your particular needs, and to answer any questions you may have. Some of our guests have a lot of questions, others just want to be left alone or are tired from the trip, we understand that. If you have any questions or issues during your stay, we are here. Jakub (or Jacques-Eloi) is a Frenchman who has lived in Prague for over 20 years. He speaks Czech well (he is a translator) and knows Prague, our neighborhood but also the rest of the country and Czech culture well. Boris is Slovak, speaks a large number of languages, and has hotel experience. You will be with us as roommates/as guests/as at home/as family: we can't decide. We want you to feel perfectly comfortable with us and to find all the private space you need.

Where you’ll be

Prague, Czechia

The apartment is located in Zizkov, the bohemian and trendy neighborhood of Prague, the favorite neighborhood of expats and artists. It has the highest concentration of bars and cafes in Prague. Located on a hill, it is a green neighborhood with winding streets that overlooks the old town. It was built largely in the 19th century, on the site of the imperial vineyards. It is traditionally the artisans' district.

At the bottom of our building you will find a grocery store open until midnight and another open all night within a 5-minute walk. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays there is a very popular market on Jiriho z Podebrad Square, a 10-minute walk away.

What makes my home unique: A ROOFTOP WITH GARDEN
I like to spend time with my guests
Jacques-Eloi, alias Jakub, born in 1970, is a Frenchman living in Prague for more than 20 years. He translates from czech to french for the nuclear industry, but also picaresque literature. He studied actuarial science, but also in the Czech National Film School and was the artistic director of a Film Festival in Rouen, which he co-founded in total confusion and which has been doing very well in south America since he stopped running it. He has been a performer in czech theaters and continues to practice non-acting, being perfectly in his element at the bottom of the sea among fishes. He does painting with people called mentally handicapped and loves the freedom of those shared moments. Sometimes he works seriously in an association that helps young Madagascans, by supporting their study or professional projects. He goes from time to time to recharge his batteries in Corsica, in the sole company of wild boars and morays. He likes kirsch soufflé and good restaurants. Boris, born in 1980, is Slovak, and is a trained translator/interpreter. He speaks multiple languages - perfectly Czech, Slovak, and French ; well English, Hebrew, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic ; and a little bit Italian, Hungarian, German and Russian. He studied also medicine, and at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. His passions: Jewish culture, bakery and pastry, the psychology of plants and their musical preference (Madonna for the roses and klezmer music for the tomatoes). He likes activities that require precision - linocut, calligraphy and soap making. He likes also everything that falls apart and especially buildings in ruins, but don't worry : Jakub is careful that the apartments we offer do not correspond to those romantic tastes of Rome antic. Boris gets along well with children, and would be an excellent father, however only Benjamin, our robot vacuum cleaner, will take care of us in our old age. When we are on vacation, it is usually our friend Tomaš who replaces us. Tomaš was born in 1985, and he leads a totally ecological and respectful life for our planet. He produces very little CO2, even when he breathes. He lives in his garden, without gas or electricity, in the light and warmth of the sun. If you want a bouquet of flowers, ask Tomaš, he will create you a bouquet of flowers of his own fields which reflects his cheerful, free and independent personality. Our team would not be complete without Ksenia and Riccardo who clean all the apartments and rooms with dedication and love. Their totem animals are the panda and the snoopy. Ksenia speaks Czech, English, Ukrainian and Russian while Riccardo speaks English and Spanish. Ksenia is creative on her bike with the big lizard she saved from the cold, Riccardo is doing a master in economics and is a rational and kind person you can totally trust.
