Location

Moray, Scotland, United Kingdom

Only 50 metres from the bridge to the spectacular East beach and estuary- an amazing place for surfing, bird watching, strolling on the beautiful white sand or relaxing on a sunny day. If you're lucky you may spot a pod of local dolphins making their way along the firth.

You can also choose to wander or cycle through the many trails in the gorgeous Scots pine woodland behind the beach and spot many types of local flora and fauna. Both join the eastern part of the Moray Coastal Trail passing interesting WWII anti-tank blocks and pillboxes on the way to the villages of Kingston, Speybay and on to Portgordon and Buckie.

In the summer months 'North 58' runs boats tours from Lossiemouth harbour for chance to get a closer look at the dolphins and see our amazing coastline from a different perspective.

The cottage is within easy walking distance to shops, a supermarket, restaurants, pubs, a pharmacy & bus stops, there are also 2 play parks nearby for children.  We are a 10 min walk to the Marina, Moray Golf Club and the West Beach which is also stunning  with its caves, skerries and lighthouse. This beach leads you on the Moray Coastal Trail West towards the historic fishing villages of Hopeman, Burghead and Findhorn all with their own interesting history and fantastic beaches.

Five miles inland is the main town of Elgin which has all amenities including shops, a leisure centre, cafes, restaurants, and pubs.

If history is your thing there are many interesting historic places nearby. The ruins of Spynie Palace, Elgin Cathedral, Duffus Castle, Burghead Well and Kinloss Abbey are all within a 20 minute radius by car. There is a fantastic fishery museum full of local history in Lossiemouth as well as Elgin museum, Moray Motor Museum, the world renowned Johnston's woollen mill.

The cottage is also a  perfect base to explore the many distilleries of the Speyside Whisky Trail, the Scottish Highlands and Cairgorn National Park.
