Newly built romantic forest hideaway. A modern 1-room hideaway for 2 people. (more people OR children only with the owners approval!)

This comfortable chalet with many amenities is located midst in the Malcantone forest. The terrace offers a beautiful treetop view with a glimpse of Lake Maggiore. The private driveway is down a slightly bumpy dirt road through the forest. But "difficult roads often lead to a beautiful destination" :-)

The space
Facilities include a spacious parking lot right behind the house, a newly fitted kitchen with a large refrigerator/freezer (no dishwasher), a wood stove and outdoor grill, a classy, modern bathroom with shower and underfloor heating. In the basement a washing machine and storage room with a washbasin (for bikes and dirty hiking boots, etc.), WiFi /WLAN and 4G phone reception. Various hiking trails and biker routes are just behind the house.

Please arrive on Saturday after 3 pm and return your keys on Saturday by 11 am. The minimum stay is 3 nights. You may stay less than 3 days but an additional cost for cleaning will be charged. Pets are welcome but only on request.

Rifugio Nel Bosco offers several outdoor activities. The region is a real paradise for mountain biking enthusiasts with more than 35 trails of which 13 are in Sessa. You can also choose to start your biking tour on the shores of Lake Lugano or Lago Maggiore at 200 to 300 metres above sea level and work your way up. If you like swimming there are also several opportunities in the area. Discover Lugano Lake and hop on board a Stand-Up-Paddle or go rowing or kayaking. It's only a 20-minute walk through the forest to enjoy Lake Astano (Laghetto di Astano) where you can sunbathe and swim or even go fishing. Walk the forest and find natural swimming pools and cascades throughout the area of Malcantone.

During your stay

We would like to be in contact with you via email and mobile phone before you arrive! As the name suggests it’s a real hide-out and difficult to find. We prefer to meet you at the little lake “Lago di Astano” just past the village of Astano.
The lake is also quite easy to find with the common road GPS navigators.
From there we will guide you to your place and give a brief introduction about the place and the area.
