The Ranger´s cottage in Målilla Älgpark is an unique accomodation in the middle of a moose park. As guests in our houses you have free access to the park all hours of the day to take a walk, play on the playground or get more acquainted with the moose, deer, goats, rabbits and chickens. The vicinity also offers fantastic lakes, endless forests and popular sights such as Astrid Lindgrens World.
Welcome to Målilla Älgpark!
The space
The Ranger´s Cottage is a classic red house with white trimmings. The house is decorated in a cozy country style and is suitable for four adults and the rest of the beds are for children and young people.
The Ranger´s Cottage is in the moose parks area and your nearest neighbours are the moose. The often circulate in ther area just across the road from your house. The farm animals (goats, bunnies and chickens) live on the other side of the farm about 500m away. Here is also our souvenir shop and even more moose. The back of the cottage faces fields and woods eith an amazing view.
Park visitors will pass your house during opening hours but you have private spaces in your garden around the house. The garden has garden furniture and a charcoal grill. Parking is available by the house.
You will share the moose park with us who live here including our dogs and other house guests outside opening hours.
The nearest lake suitable for children and swimming is about 10km away. There are several different lakes to choose from. If you would like to go fishing, our part of the stream that runs by the property is available. A fishing card is required in other waters and lakes.
Available on the ground floor:
- One bedroom with two sofa beds suitable for children and young people or as an extra living room. This room is next to the living room and has a curtain in the doorframe in stead of a door.
- Living room with sofa, chairs and a table for boardgames or drawing. There is a tv with blu-ray player and some movies in the living room. You are welcome to bring your own movies to watch. There are also some books and board games in the house. There are no Tv-channels or internet connection.
- Kitchen and dining area with everything you need. There is one high chair for children. The appliances are old but fully functioning and clean. There is no dish washer. All the equipment you need to cook and eat is in place. Feel free to use what you find in the cupboards and you are welcome to leave fresh and clean food that you don´t want to take with you when you leave.
- Bathroom with toilet and basin. There is some toilet paper and hand soap when you arrive.
- The shower is built in under the stairs where there is also washing mashine.
- Two entrances. The one on the front has room for jackets and shoes. The one on the side has more space for outer wear and closets with drying rack, vacuum cleaner, cleaning supplies and cushions for the outdoor furniture.
Available on the first floor:
- Two bedrooms with double beds. There is space for an extra bed or a travel cot.
- Bathroom with toilet and basin.
(Extra beds are available, ask if needed.)
There is a heat pump that can be used during spring and autumn. It is not used during the summer.
Heating is available during spring and fall.
Guest access
Our guests rent the entire house and its garden/private space. In addition to that you have free access to the moose park area with all the animals, playground and shop whenever you like. The entrance fee is included in the house price. Check out the Målilla Älgpark website for more infromation.
You will get information as an accomodation guest on arrival, about the park, animals and what´s ok and not.
You need a car to get to us and it/they can be parked by the house.
Other things to note
Please note that final cleaning and bed linen/towels are not included in the price. Cleaning costs 2000kr and bed linen/towels cost 200kr per person. Please book this at least two weeks before arrival. Additional services are payed with card or cash in the moose park shop. You are welcome to clean yourselves and all cleaning supplies needed is in the house as well as check list. There are duvets and pillows for all beds.
