Over the last 30 years we have renovated it to become the beautiful Rufugio it now is and from where we were hoping to arrange walking tours along the Pilgrim Route in Italy. We both grew up in Southern Africa and have spent most of our lives living in various countries in Africa, running a Charity which we started in 2019, called Africa AHEAD, which helps rural women improve their living standards. In 2015, we had just retired to Cape Town when our home was destroyed by wild fires. However, all these plans are on hold with the dreadful Corona pandemic and we await to see if life will return to normal in the coming months.
