The place is lovely, not much around in the area but a lovely relaxing place to go and very good value for money. We got a taxi from the airport and nobody knew where the place was but it didn't help that the name is not displayed. It says on the door: 'villa surya abady' and try not to book with Julien as he doesn't work there anymore so there was no one around to let us in when we got there.

Great villa. Friendly staff, that can always help when you have any problems or questions. You have free filtered water and can use the kitchen if you want to. Even though the location is not central you can drive to every nice restaurant or bakery or the beach in 10 minutes with your rented scooter (it's really cheap). All together it were 2 really nice weeks I spent here.

Really nice place, (if you have no mold issue in your room!) Not many restaurants around. Quiet and beautiful (if no kids playing with motorbike in front od the hotel).

I just want to start by saying this is the first negative review I've ever written. To start Julien's was difficult to find, it was also hard to find a cab willing to drive all the way up there. The room was large, the bed was comfortable and the price was good... these are the only nice things I have to say about my stay. The sink was leaking and needed to be turned on from the valve under the sink as well as the faucet. The internet did not work in the room and was painfully slow by the pool/common area (I work remotely so this was a big problem for me.) The only thing provided for bedding was a sheet, I asked 3 different times for another blanket and was finally provided just another sheet. It rained one night and the roof leaked. There was maintenance going on which was pretty loud during the day. This all could have been excused in my opinion since it was very affordable. However, on Wednesday the water stopped running. No using the toilet, the shower, the sink to wash your hands, brush your teeth etc. I had a meeting I had to get to when I realized the water had stopped and I had to get a motorbike to another villa to take a shower there. The shower in the first place I was brought to was broken as well so I moved yet again until I was finally brought to a bathroom where I could shower, brush my teeth etc. It was VERY inconvenient. There was no communication about this lack of water whatsoever. The water was off for 3 full days. I ended up booking another place in town because I couldn't put up with it. There are many other affordable places closer to Canggu I would recommend over this accommodation.
