Located down a private farm track within the stunning Lake District National Park, The Byre, a lovingly constructed studio apartment is a hidden treasure, sitting in a secluded position boasting stunning views. The hot tub is not currently in use at The Byre. It was shared with its neighbouring studio, The Hayloft, but a decision has been taken not to share it at this time.

Beautifully renovated, character combined with modern conveniences, the result is a heavenly secluded spot for two.

The space
COVID-19 INFORMATION: THE COTTAGE IS DEEP CLEANED BETWEEN GUESTS AND THERE IS NO BACK TO BACK BOOKING OF GUESTS IN OPERATION AT THIS TIME TO ALLOW FOR THIS.

LOCAL PUBS & CAFES IF OPEN MAY BE OFFERING A VERY REDUCED SERVICE SO PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE PROVISIONS WITH YOU.

The Byre resides in the shadow of the great Black Combe which is just short of a mountain. Black Combe is the best place in the UK to see the five kingdoms, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and The Isle of Man.

There is a "Byre Trail" around the fields surrounding the property, ideal for dog walking or an evening stroll.

Cumbrian Heavy Horses are literally just around the corner, and Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre is a five minute drive. As are the beaches at Silecroft or Haverigg and not forgetting Silecroft golf course, which is also situated next to the coast. Eskdale golf course, also quite nearby, is a private 18 hole course.

Guest access
Guests can access the whole place and can also walk onto the fells or the stone circle straight from the door.

Other things to note
I would say a car is essential to appreciate the area.

The Byre is well placed for all the western coast has to offer. Muncaster Castle is a 20 minute drive, Whitehaven around 40 minutes. An artisan bakery, awarding winning butcher and greengrocers, outstanding cafes and more walking opportunities can all be found in Broughton, a five minute drive in the opposite direction. A foray into the Duddon Valley, several minutes drive away is highly recommended, providing a very scenic route into the Eskdale valley where you can find Lal Ratty, the miniature Ravenglass & Eskdale railway. And if you simply continue on the road passed the accommodation, the Whicham Valley will be laid out before you. So all in all, a myriad of very tempting reasons any couple would enjoy their time in this beautiful part of the world immensely.

A variety of good traditional Lakes pubs, restaurants and takeaways are within touching distance (The Byre has a kitchenette with kettle, microwave, fridge and crockery). Walking from the door is a must, the Swinside Stone Circle is within walking distance, and an additional barn is available to guests to use as a drying room, or to store bicycles etc.

The Byre is also situated next to its sister accommodation, The Hayloft - so if two couples wanted to holiday together but in separate accommodation, this is the perfect spot to be able to do so.
