Charming villa and fountain garden with surrounding mountain views in superb central location. A few minutes' walk to high street and new ski lift. Private parking with electric car charging point. Accommodates 8–10 persons. Ideal for outdoor sports enthusiasts; walkers, trekkers, cyclists (Tour de France route), kayaking, climbing, paragliding and gliding all easily accessible. Tennis School (10 min walk), Equestrian Centre (10 min drive), lovely 9 hole golf course. Close to Spanish border.

The space
A WARM WELCOME AWAITS:
Our marble floored entrance hall provides a natural barrier between the outside and our living areas. Here guests can change from wet jackets and boots, leaving them in our drying room ready for the next day or next outing. The cosy living and dining room is dominated by a warm Chesney gas log fire with open views through the high Georgian windows to the garden and surrounding views. Across the hall way there is a modern functional kitchen linking to a smaller snug reading room overlooking the wonderful garden dinning and BBQ area for those long summer evenings.

In addition, there is a new decking area to take advantage of the best mountain views. Guests also have access to a professional outdoor table tennis set (cornilleau), a IC6 Life Fitness cycle, Rameur d´Eau WaterRower and outdoor badminton set.

Guests will also find a range of up to date brochures featuring places to see and visit in and around Luchon, which along with our library of guides and maps in our living room and of course our local knowledge will help you make the most of your stay at Villa Portillon and your visit to Bagneres de Luchon and the Pyrenees.

The only room in the house that is not accessible is a small storage room on the first floor.

Depending on the time of year you visit the garden in the spring, summer and autumn is a lovely space offering several unique seating areas for your early morning cup of tea/coffee/croissant, lunch, BBQ or an early evening glass of wine!

Bagnères-de-Luchon, also referred to as Luchon, is a French commune and spa town in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region of south-western France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Luchonnais or Luchonnaises

The ski-resort at Superbagneres is close by (8 minutes up the hillside by cable car - although this is currently being replaced. Opening date December 2023).

A particular local scenic highlight is the Cascade d'enfer, a high waterfall in the Lys Valley, while numerous other trails are popular, including many focussed around nearby Hospice de France, in the mountains.

Exploring the little villages in the valleys such as the Valley d'Oueil and the Larboust Valley, both north-west of Luchon but you will find lakes and waterfalls in lovely scenery in many places nearby. There are numerous other activities and natural sites close to the town, with lakes and waterfalls featuring among the most popular - ask at the Bagneres tourist office for details of the walks and drives that explore the most popular of these.

Among the other most popular activities are a tour along the mountain passes made famous by the Tour de France such as the Col de Peyresourde; the walk to the scenic Lac d'Oô; and a visit to the scenic village of Arreau a little way to the north of Bagneres.
