The Bark Eater Inn and Cabins are nestled in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks. Our location is quiet and serene on a bucolic 200 acre property with breath taking views, gardens, miles of trails, forests, and flowering meadows. All this and we are only minutes to the Lake Placid Olympic Village, Whiteface Ski Mountain and endless outdoor adventures. Stay onsite for a rejuvenating retreat or get out and explore to your hearts content. Oh and we're also a gorgeous wedding venue!

The space
This 2 or 3 room suite can be rented in various combinations depending on the size and needs of your group. Two rooms have 1 queen bed and the third room has 2 Twin Beds. The third room is an additional up charge of $100-$125 depending on the season. For groups of 4 or less you can choose 2 rooms with 1 queen bed in each room OR a room with a Queen Bed and a room with two twin beds. For groups of 5 or 6 you get all three rooms. The added charge will automatically be added when you enter 5 or 6 people. Please specify your preferred room configuration at check out as well. All three rooms share one bathroom and are accessed by a private staircase. These rooms are perfect for a group of friends or a small family looking to have their own private space. These rooms have beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains and overlook our gardens. Breakfast is included. (For those of you that have stayed with us before this suite used to be 3 private rooms that shared a bath. For safety reasons, we felt that separate parties sharing a bathroom was no longer viable.) Please call 518-576-7100 for questions.

Located in the heart of the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. The Adirondack Park is a magical place. More than six million acres, it contains almost ninety percent of the country’s wilderness east of the Rockies. Larger than the entire state of Vermont, the park offers something truly unique to the outdoor adventurer. Regardless of one’s preference, from roadside to remote, the backdrop for all Adirondack activities is mountainous in nature where waterfalls and scenic vistas abound.

During your stay
Your hosts at the Bark Eater are Meghan Kirkpatrick and Tyler Nichols. We have been apart of the revival of this iconic Inn since it changed ownership nearly a decade ago. After years of renovation, planning, and refinement, is was with great pride that we opened our doors in 2016. We took over the business in 2018 and began leasing the from the owners. We are so grateful for this incredible opportunity and have many visions we hope to bring forward in the coming years. It is our hope that we will be grow this business and maintain a place you that is your home away from home for many years to come.

We share a love of the outdoors, living closely with the land, and working with people. Meghan is an avid gardener, herbalist, hostess, cook, crafter, and nature educator. Tyler does it all and always with a smile. He's a handy man, land manager, cook, and an outdoor adventure enthusiast. We wear a lot of hats around here and love the diversity of our work and it's seasonal changes. Our other family members are Dude the Dog, Kvothe the Cat, and a couple dozed free range chickens. We love this place and our little family is so thrilled to share it with you!
