The house is only 5 minutes walk away from the old castle of Carcès and is perfectly situated for small trips and picnics around Provence. With 2500 inhabitants Carcès is a typical example of a small French village with a weekly market (every Saturday) in the town centre, small cafés, restaurants and shops. The good wines of the area can be sampled on most of the surrounding vineyards and also the local wine cooperative is quite reasonable and good.

The closest towns of Cotignac and Enrecasteaux are a short drive away and if you want to go swimming in the Mediterranean it is only 45 minutes to the fine beaches of La Londe and Hyeres.
