Sittingbourne is a modern market town situated in the Swale district of Kent. It is located by the Swale, a section of sea separating the Isle of Sheppey from the mainland, as well as sitting beside the Roman Watling Street. Sittingbourne offers a number of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as the historic Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway. For lovers of the outdoors there are plenty of places to visit, explore Milton Creek Country Park or head over to the Elmley National Nature Reserve on the Isle of Sheppey. Further afield are the towns of Rochester, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone as well as the city of Canterbury. With easy travel links to plenty of towns and cities as well as London, Sittingbourne is a convenient base for exploring the surrounding areas. The railway line links to London Victoria and St Pancras, the journey taking about an hour.

Just outside Alpaca Lodge are dozens of country paths to explore, leading over meadows and into woods, so lace up those walking boots and stride out to enjoy Kent at its finest. We have quiet country lanes for cycling and as well as cycle-friendly footpaths including the Saxonshore Way, the Pilgrims Way and the South Downs Way. And a short drive away is The Crab and Winkle cycle route in Whitstable.
We are within a short drive to Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Chatham Historic Dockyard, Whitstable (especially for the Oyster Festival), Rochester, and in about an hour you could be in London or seaside towns such as Birchington and Broadstairs.
Kent is full of beautiful countryside and has lots of wonderful villages to visit, Chilham, Pluckley, Smarden, Tankerton to name just a few.
