About this listing
Check out all my listings! :-) Please note, I don't accept reservations more than 3 months in advance...
This is a very unique, historic space right on the East River! Available for only a short time until the antique store re-opens; the space has been emptied and converted into a comfortable apartment while still retaining the charm of the boutique.
The Storefront is a lovely & light-filled space on the ground floor of a waterfront rowhouse with a big private garden in Brooklyn's booming Greenpoint Historic District, on the riverfront just north of bustling Williamsburg. Walk to the Bedford "L" subway stop, or just a few blocks to the Greenpoint "G" stop. East River Ferry service (with multiple stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens) is 2 blocks from the building, on the India Street waterfront, and many bus lines cross through the area as well. Plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes, galleries, banks, gyms, etc all within blocks.
800 completely open interior square feet. This building was a loving & complete gut job from top to bottom, with all new electric and plumbing, but every effort was made to bring historical detailing back to this late 1800s commercial space. The Storefront features beautiful salvaged wood floors and a fantastic mid-1800s tin ceiling that was brought in from an old schoolhouse! You will find a cozy living area, a comfortable Queen-sized bed, a dining area with a basic kitchen (electric 2-burner cooktop, sink & refrigerator), a separate lavatory and an open-space clawfoot tub. (Note: a handshower attachment & hand-made copper ring enclosure have been installed, will update photos ASAP!) You'll also have exclusive use of the 1200 sq ft lovely landscaped garden, a true luxury in the city! WiFi access. There is a window A/C unit and an efficient ceiling fan, and there's generally a nice breeze off the river, too. There is no television in this rental, because you have better things to do here in NYC!
Commercial & residential dead-end street, terminating at Transmitter Park on the East River. Please be aware that this street is both commercial & residential; while the noise level is normal for NYC, this is not a "silent" apartment.
Privacy & comfort await!
*please note: you will have exclusive use of the garden during your visit... depending on the length of your stay, you'll likely be asked to water the plants when the weather is warm... :-)
I have a few listings available in this wonderful neighborhood, if you click on my profile you can check them all out.
Thanks for looking, and we look forward to hosting you in fantastic Greenpoint!
Everything at the Storefront is pretty self-explanatory! I'll ask you to please adhere to local recycling rules, and will provide the proper receptacles.
Check-in is any time after 2pm and check-out is any time before 11am, but I aim to be flexible whenever there aren't other schedules to juggle; let's be in touch directly regarding your timing.
You are more than welcome to have your friends over and I certainly want you to enjoy your stay, but please no big parties & no groups of total strangers :-)
Have a wonderful visit!
A beautiful place in an amazing location. We really enjoyed getting to know Greenpoint, which was made much easier by Maya's fantastic map. So many good places to explore. There's a little park with stunning views right next door. Easy to get around on the G train or ferry. We were able to leave our bags on our final day, which was great. We loved our stay with our baby daughter and we would love to come back.
Maya was a wonderful host with amazing communication and the best hidden gem flat in Greenpoint. It was exceptional, beautiful, clean cool such great taste and a private backyard oasis! I would most certainly stay at the antique storefront angain!!!
The accommodation was just gorgeous! It had a lovely feel, was really comfortable and with everything you needed. And more. Extra things like the fact there was a tub of umbrellas near the door when it rained and the lovely bath with a view out to the little garden made staying here a treat. Maya was a joy to stay with, easy to deal with and prompt to reply. She left a detailed map of the area with places to eat, get coffee etc which made me feel like a local.
Maya's loft is enchanting and cozy, just like the photos, full of vintage details and very well decorated. The garden is a piece of heaven in earth. I arrived in spring and flowers were in bloom, you could smell it form the back door at nights. Bees, birds and squirrels were great company in the patio. There is a park right a few steps of the door that grant access to an amazing concrete and steel pier with Manhattan view. day or night is very relaxing to visit the pier and have a walk to the end and back. The neighborhood is amazing, quiet and familiar. You can find great food anywhere you go, just have to pick your favorite. Prices vary as menus but it's mostly affordable everywhere. I enjoyed every meal and loved the Maya's place and the area.
Our stay at Maya's place was amazing. The antique shop is truly unique and perfect for a couple. Maya was great with her communication leading up to our stay and even during when we had a few questions. The location is perfect for getting around Brooklyn and close to the station to get into Manhattan if you need to. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to the city. Thanks so much, Maya!
