A large house located in Delmas 83 and within a walking distance of all amenities - supermarket, food market, bank, gas station, shopping complex, tap-tap route.
4 Standard rooms - from $40/p/n (2ppl max)
2 Large rooms - from $50/p/n (4ppl max)

The space

The house has six double bedrooms which all have en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, TV and plenty of storage space. It is split in to two levels. The top has 5 bedrooms, a chill-out area with TV, an extra toilet, main entrance with on-site parking and a patio.
The bottom has a large shared open-plan kitchen with dining area, washing machine, the sixth bedroom and the back yard.

The Auberge has its own generator, thus, we are self-sufficient when there is no electricity (which is a normal thing in Haiti by the way).

The rooms can be rented on daily, weekly and monthly basis. The prices vary based on the room size and are very competitive with other guest houses in the area. Our guests can choose from two different room sizes based on the comfort needed and budget available.

Interaction with guests

If I am around, I love meeting and interacting with new people.
At the same time, I am a privacy-respecting host, so if you like your own space, that's not a problem either.

Other things to note

Rue Eucalyptus is not paved (which you will find quite often) and the street lights are not as reliable as in the western world so please let everybody in your party know if you are arriving at night.

One staff member was nice to me by advising me to book auberge de la cigogne for one night and if i like it i could continuing my stay, Thats the only thing i like from that journey Obviously I diddnt stay longer, mosquetos were giving me a hard time, shower is so small i couldnt even move my hands to wash my body,no place to put toilet stuff while in the shower, the bath towel was poor quality, left lent on my skin each time i use it which was embarrassing, and I got charged USD20 for cheching out an hour late.

To be honest, Auberge de la Cigogne was for us a great disappointment. First of all was the communication from the side of Auberge de la Cigogne very bad. That was the reason also why we were disappointed when we arrived because they didn't answer all our questions about the place. We booked for 16 days but we left already after 3 days. We thought we booked through Airbnb an entire home but it seemed only 1 room and if we needed more rooms we had to pay the same amount once again for every room we needed. In the original contract the amount of people was free. Then we heard that there was only for 1 person a breakfast (we booked for 3 persons) and that only once every 3 days fresh towels would be supplied. Mind you in a tropical country you take at least twice a day a shower, so after 1 day the towel is already wet and dirty. The breakfast was 2 tiny slices of white bread, coffee and some fruits. The location of the Auberge is very remote and the road towards the shops and restaurants is very bad (stones and sand) and even local people don't know the exact location of the Auberge de la Cigogne. We told Natacha that we were together with and old person who couldn't walk that good and who had problems with the eyes. But never there came a message of Natacha that this place wasn't maybe the right choice for us. Since I heard nothing I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Maybe a little stupid to think this way but at the other hand I think you may expect all the honest information from the host. We didn't feel welcome by Natacha at all. We saw the host Natacha several times in a distance but she never came to us to shake hands. The place was run by a kind of manager who gave the key and all the information. My final impression is that this place is not an Airbnb worthy place where you feel welcomed as if you are 'family' but it is a place where they use Airbnb as a platform to earn money in the first place. It is a pity that we made a reservation for this place but luckily we found a hotel which was almost the same price per night and where they supplied breakfast for everybody and fresh towels every day. In the hotel I felt very welcome. Auberge de la Cigogne was more like a second degree hotel than a family Airbnb welcoming home. We will not return there ever again and I hope this review will warn other people about what they can expect, so there will be no disappointment for them. One positive remark is that the manager returned the already transferred Airbnb money without any problem.

Nice place. It has been a guest house for three years and has several rooms for rent. The room and bathroom were very clean. Warm and cold water. AC worked when there was city electricity (this is typical in Haiti). Windows had screens. The host was great and there are people who work in the house taking care of things. Parking inside the gate is available. Difficult to find the first time, but walking distance (1/2 mile) to supermarket and excellent affordable restuarants. The house is big with a wall around it, but the neighborhood is not fancy. It is fairly quiet for Haiti, with little road noise. Overall an excellent guest house for Haiti. I will return.

Voyage d'affaire.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Natacha and I'd like to welcome you to Auberge de la Cigogne.

I am a pretty easygoing host who thrives on meeting new people from all over the world. Apart from my guest houses I also run a community school and a local orphanage. I'll do my best to meet all the guests but work and kids keep me very busy most of the time so if I am not there, don't worry, you will be welcomed by one of my members of staff who will be more than happy to help you.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
