Other things to note
We enjoy panoramic views over The Rother Valley and Bodiam Castle. There is fantastic country side & ancient woodland to explore, or river side meanders for keen walkers. Famous Houses and Gardens to include Sissinghust Castle, Scotney Castle, Batemens, Pashley Manor and Great Dixter are within easy reach. The Historic Cinque Port of Rye is 9 miles away and well worth a visit. Battle and its famous Abbey are 7 miles away. 2016 is the 950th Aniversary of the Battle of Hastings (1066). The town of Battle will be commemorating with an even more elaborate re-enactment than their usual annual event.
Guests are requested not to smoke in the house. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets, or children under 10 years of age. It is appreciated if our guests do not wear outdoor shoes on the carpeted areas. New carpet slippers are given to each guest for their convenience and comfort.

I am a retired City of London International Banker and live in a house built by Guinness the brewers for one of their estate workers, which I have restored and modernised. The property has panoramic views over Bodiam Castle and the Rother Valley. My wife and I enjoy gardening and I am the membership secretary of our local garden society.
The 5 things I can't live without are;- air, water, food, shelter and good company. The latter being our reason for providing bed and breakfast accommodation. I am part sighted and we host the most delightful guests from all walks of life, every culture and all round the world, people that I could never meet by any other means. We do our best to make our guests feel at home and relaxed, so that they can enjoy the tranquility and delights of our part of The High Weald. My favourite travel destinations are Greece and its Islands, Spain, France , Italy, New Zealand and Australia. James Clavel's Shogun is my favourite book, The King's Speech my favourite movie, West Side Story my favourite show, Rachmaninov's concerto in e minor my favourite music and lobster mayonnaise my favourite food.
My motto is dum spiro spero.
