About this listing

This is my private work and living space, it is packed with precious artworks, a very comfy bed and sofa bed in the living room/kitchen. It is right next door to Broadway market , one of the busiest/trendiest areas in london.Great tube and bus links

The space

It is a working space and in no way minimal! Guests need to be respectful, considerate of neighbours and trustworthy, no parties! The fridge and cooker are old but it is still able to rustle up great feasts.

Interaction with guests

I will be available to help you with the basics!

Other things to note

my flat has a lot of books/art/objects in it!

This is what Airbnb is all about for me, hazing amazing experiences in people's eccentric homes. B has art everywhere in her flat as well as amazing curios, lots of books, lovely plants etc. It really felt like a home from home. And the location is amazing with Broadway Market on your doorstep and parks nearby. The bed is really cosy and B really went the extra mile, texting me during my stay to make sure all was okay, giving me some plant cuttings to take home, noting down recommended local restaurants. A great host in a magical apartment, highly recommended!

Cosy, quiet apartment with neat artworks everywhere. Handy to everything : transport, parks, bars, cafes, shops and such ...

Bert was great, kind and helpful. The flat has its flaws but everything works and it's full of character so nothing is a problem. Great heating, really comfy bed, nice lighting, good shower, private. The area is fab, Broadway Market is so awesome. It's full of weird and wonderful art pieces, very eclectic. You'll stare at the walls a lot, seeing different things. Nice big sliding door to open so you can get lots of air. I'd stay again!

Bert is an excellent host. She's very concerned with making sure that you have everything you need during your stay. She's conscientious in her efforts to explain the location and operational details of various pieces of equipment in the flat and I got the impression that she really cares about the quality of your stay in her place. She's clearly a very talented artist, although I found some of the pieces a little macabre for my taste. During my stay, I always found myself fascinated with the details of yet one more piece of artwork hanging nearby as I went about my business. As a bit of a minimalist, I eventually found the experience a little overpowering to the senses, but I was exhilarated by the change in scene from what I'm frequently used to. That flat is very secure, being situated in a gated compound. There is lots of light and the view that you get of the sunset in the evening is spectacular. There is a constant low-level noise in the bathroom and bedroom from some kind of ventilation system, but that should not be a problem to most people, as it's barely noticeable unless you're particularly sensitive to noise. Generally, the flat is very quiet, with little or no noise from the neighbours or the outside environment. Bert's Wi-Fi is excellent, providing lovely fast download speeds for your internet experience. The Regents canal is a couple of minutes walk away, as are an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants. At the weekend, one of the nearby roads is closed to traffic and a market takes place there, with tasty-looking foods available. There are lots of buses within five minutes walk and Cambridge Heath Overground station is also less than ten minutes walk away, so transport links are excellent. I had a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Bert's flat.

Bert was amazingly hospitable and helpful. Her place was strange and wondrous if not just a tad dusty- but I don't think you'd be looking at this place if you were worried about a tiny bit of dust! The view and location are super fun. Broadway market is the best place for coffee and cocktails.

Response from B:
Thanks for your feedback! sorry you felt it was dusty, will endeavour to do more dusting but i had just moved studios that week so perhaps in unearthed more hidden dust! It would have been kinder to just mention this privately rather than post it as a review! considering it wasn't you that actually stayed here and Kelsey told me she loved everything in the flat. On another note the front door was left open on my return!
