About this listing

A 1920's rowhouse located in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh, off of a main thorough fare, may be some traffic noise. Walking distance from the busway, grocery stores, Healthy Ride bike stations, bars, eateries, parks & coffee shops. Front porch, fire pit, shared kitchen, wifi, washer and dryer available & more. Currently pet free, but pets are welcome! LGBTQ friendly.

In the warmer weather, neighbors are all on their porches.

The space

It's a cozy row-house built in the 1920's.

Ridiculously large television, cable, DVD player, stereo, etc in the shared common space.

Guest access

This bedroom is the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed as well as an L-shaped couch (The room can sleep three comfortably, with one person sleeping on the couch). Large closet available for clothes, window air conditioning unit available, fan, a desk can be provided, alarm clock, sheets and towels.

In your room, you will also find a mini-fridge, umbrella, iron and small ironing board, maps of the city, and a few toiletries.

Kitchen, pantry, bathroom, dining room, living room, television, porch, back yard, grill and small patio are all shared with the host and other housemates.

Interaction with guests

I own a small business and am quite busy. When home, I spend most of my time in the kitchen, on the front porch or sleeping. :)

I have one human roommate and perhaps an additional Airbnb guest in another room. Both year-round occupants work full-time and then some. We may just pass like ships in the night.

Other things to note

The house is located on the east end of Pittsburgh with easy access (by car, walking, biking or busing) to many amenities-grocery stores, universities, libraries, museums, coffee shops, bus lines, public parks, restaurants, bars, etc. There is also a Target two blocks away.

I had a private room. There was another Airbnb guest there at the same time. We had limted contact. The host provided food for the guests which was convenient. There was plenty of street parking with easy access. The host made me feel very confortable and welcome.

Sarah was a great host, the room was comfy, clean, and private. Affordable, and great travel experience. I stayed for four nights on business & I would definitely stay here again!

I had a great time staying at Sarah's place for 3 weeks. Sarah is very nice, helpful, and hospitable. She knows the city pretty well and she's a great resource to people who are from out-of-town. I definitely recommend her place to anyone who is visiting Pittsburgh! :)

Great host, great house. The room was exactly as described, and the house is a great location to restaurants and bars in Shadyside.

Sarah was an awesome host! Her home is clean and comfortable and I felt like I was at home. She was a great listener and even went as far as to provide my favorite cereal which was the bomb! The room was spacious and the bed was ooh la la comfy and cozy! My new home away from home!

It was a treat to host you while you were here! You asked where the down comforter came from...and I don't remember at all. :( Hope to see you again soon!

I was pleasantly surprised at how big our room was. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the house was quiet. We didn't use it, but there was a fridge in our room, which is a great touch if we'd been staying longer.

Sarah's house is cosy: the sitting room is comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the shower powerful and hot and the guest bedroom is large and attractive with a sofa as well as a great bed. But the main feature here is Sarah who is an incredibly kind and caring person who makes a considerable effort to ensure that her guests feel welcome in Pittsburgh. I stayed for an extended period with Sarah and I ended up with a great friend and confidante in addition to a wonderful host.

ALEX! You made me cry, but in a good way. :) I was so thankful for the opportunity to host you and then become friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I like to set my guests up for a great visit to this city I love. I provide items guests may need or have forgotten to bring along. I do my best to take care of the small details in order that guests can enjoy their visit to the fullest and have a restful place to come back to at the end of the day.

I'm a small business owner in specialty coffee here in Pittsburgh. I'm exceptionally busy. When I'm home, I'm often still working, getting caught up on the Walking Dead (zombie TV show) or sleeping.

I love company at the house. I'm often told the house is super cozy. Currently, I've got one housemate. Both of us work full-time and then some and pass like ships in the night, sadly.

I love hosting, mostly friends over the years, but am learning how to be a good host to strangers, as well.

I love live music, laughter, coffee, my friends, sitting on my front porch and sometimes out back at the fire-pit . I cook simple meals and spend as much time outside as possible, which is difficult as my work requires me to be indoors 6-7 days/week.

I've lived in this same house for over 9 years. I've seen neighbor kids grow up, graduate high school and go to college. This house has been a gift to me and I'm happy to share it.
