Beautiful 1927 brick home in downtown historic Strasburg (Train Town USA), just down the street from the Railroad Museums and Sight & Sound Theatre, a short walk to Amish farmland, and a 15 minute drive to charming Lancaster City.

The space

A beautiful home in the perfect location!

We offer a private guest suite in the attic with a kitchenette, comfy sitting area, and beautiful queen-sized bed. The kitchenette features a full-sized refrigerator, sink, microwave, and toaster and is stocked with some snacks, tea, and coffee for you to enjoy.

The space is ideal for 2 people, but there is a small bedroom connected (part of the suite) with a twin sized bed that could be used for a 3rd person, and we have a second airbnb guest room downstairs that is also available (could accommodate up to 5 people, would require a second booking).

We love living in this beautiful area, and are very familiar with the local attractions, restaurants, theatres, and events (we've worked for most of the theatres in the area!). We're happy to make recommendations!

Guest access

Private guest suite just for you!

The guest bathroom is just down the stairs. It is only used for guests. We do have one other guest room also available on airbnb so depending on whether or not someone else is staying at the same time it could either be private or shared with another airbnb guest.

You are also welcome to relax out on the front porch or in the yard.

Interaction with guests

Enjoy total privacy and independence, or any amount of interaction you would like. Please let us know what you would prefer. We encourage open communication. We both keep fairly busy schedules and will be in and out of the house, but we enjoy interacting with guests as time permits. We will always be home at night.

Other things to note

If stairs are difficult for you, this is probably not the place for you, as this is on the 3rd floor.

We do our best to keep our house warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer, but it is not always easy with an older house. In the Summer it can be warm, and in the Winter it generally stays about 60-65°F.

If you are new to airbnb, please know that this is our home. We love it here and love opening it up to guests, but it is not a hotel. If you are looking to stay in a hotel or an actual bed & breakfast there are many great ones in this area. If you are looking to stay in a home with locals then we would welcome you here! Our rates are a suggested donation. Please feel free to discuss anything with us before booking.

This is a lovely house towards the Western end of the main street in Strasburg. Accommodation is in the converted attic, and is private and spacious. There is a fridge and a kitchenette where breakfast things are laid out and the bathroom is at the foot of the stairs. Everything is very convenient and the hosts are charming and welcoming. Strasburg itself is a little gem, set in farming country but near to the larger town of Lancaster. The railroad museum is well worth a visit, as is the steam train to Paradise. If you are into antiques, there is quite a lot to wade through and places to eat, though small in number, are pretty good. "Iron Horse" has quite a buzz and nobody goes hungry there! An excellent place to stay.

Very nice hosts - great communication. The upstairs room was nice and more than we needed for our one night stay. The location is excellent for driving Amish backroads and walking through Strasburg town center, and the parking is a bonus. Only thing to keep in mind is the traffic can be a bit noisy in the morning though I enjoyed hearing the horse and buggy sounds. Thanks very much!

Johnathan and Rebecca have a BEAUTIFUL house in an amazing location. I was unfortunately only staying for one night, and it was a night when all of us got back late (and I had to get up early the next morning to leave). Nonetheless, we did get to have a bit of conversation, and they seem like the perfect hosts and great people. I wish I had planned to stay an extra night in the area to get to know them better! Will definitely look to stay with them again if I'm back in the area!

The attic suite was cozy and nicer than I expected. It was very spacious and it had everything we needed! Johnathan and Rebecca set up a book exchange featuring some intriguing books. If you're a cat lover, they have a great, super friendly cat who loved to hang out with us. If you're not a cat person, you can close the door and the cat won't bother you. Overall a great experience!

One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had - Jonathan was very communicative and the place is lovely for a quiet getaway.

The place and hosts were exactly as described. The room was clean, personal, and Johnathon and Rebecca were very inviting. Their house was at a wonderful location about 15minutes from any and all activities. We had a great stay and will be coming back if we're in the area!
