Perfectly self-contained and nestled in Toronto's bustling Fashion and Entertainment District this modern, bright apartment is the ideal pied-à-terre for urban exploration. It's also very conducive to relaxation, and as a point of interest, my Pod may well be the longest-in-operation Airbnb listing in Toronto!
The apartment is in a small boutique condominium building tucked away on a quiet street just off of King Street West, an historic but also very modern neighbourhood - as downtown as you can be - providing immediate access (walk) to Toronto's theaters (Roy Thompson Hall, The Royal Alex, Second City etc), clubs, art galleries, Queen West shopping district, Chinatown, The TIFF Bell Lightbox, Kensington Market, Harbourfront, sporting, business and conference district.
During your stay the Pod will be 100% yours, not shared with anyone else and completely private. Yours to enjoy, relax in and call home.
The space is open and airy with south-facing 11' floor to ceiling glass and a Juliette balcony that opens right up to make it feel like a tree house! It also offers a great view of the CN Tower and its spectacular nightly light show.
The layout is modern and very open with a comfortable living/eating/work area. The adjoining bedroom (with a real and fluffy bed that has as of Feb 2012 a super comfy new mattress pad/topper) has sliding corner glass doors for privacy. The kitchen's equipped with all the mod-cons, marble counter and good lighting, fixtures and finishes. The bathroom's super lovely: Corian counters and sink, big mirror, deep tub for long baths, therapeutic rain shower. The suite has washer and dryer, dishwasher and AC control allows you to set the climate to whatever suits you.
Overall, beautiful dark floors, concrete ceilings, white walls, bright, open, quiet and spacious. Great location. Feels like home cause it is! Special treats include Ontario's finest natural well water lovingly brought into the city from 'the farm'. Guaranteed to make you feel... well!
Public transit by streetcar is just steps from the condo to take you in any direction you'd like to go whether that is to Lake Ontario and the beautiful Toronto Islands, Harbourfront Center, Powerplant Gallery and numerous lakeside cafes, parks and attractions - or to Yonge Street, Yorkville or the west end of the city.
Hungry? The neighbourhood is also a wonderful place to sample and enjoy a vast array of culinary delights. Experience the world's finest in a 2 block radius: sushi, Asian, French, Italian, seafood, fondue, baked goods, Indian, Ethiopian, Tibetan, Vietnamese, Thai... fresh fish, oysters and seafood... micro breweries, bier market, incredible pizza, juices, desserts, art bars... organic, vegan, fusion, delis, famous chefs (like Susur Lee), friendly neighbourhood servers and hosts. You name it, the list goes on and on as all around are organic and fair-trade coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, wine bars, pubs, rooftop patios and little hidden gems to be discovered and adopted.
If you prefer to eat at home, rejoice! Fresh markets (and farmer's markets in the summer months) in the area bring the goodness of locally grown produce right to your table while Kensington Market and Chinatown both offer enormous range of fresh and exotic foods at very little cost. There's an organic butcher up the street too, fresh cheeses, homemade bread and the like at affordable prices. There are also convenient corner grocers and a larger Sobeys grocery store within easy walking distance on Spadina Avenue if you just want to stock up and spend your time outside rather than in.
Toronto is a friendly metropolis with many varied communities and much to offer and discover - which is why I live here - and I'd be very happy to provide you with whatever information makes your stay most enjoyable.
This is my home and I'm happy to share it with those who respect this. Some basic rules and common sense apply:
Respect that there are neighbours (who aren't on holiday :) - so no parties and excessive noise that will get me in hot water and wreck things for everyone else.
I ask too that you take care of the place, treat it as you would your own...
One more thing: All products used on premises are selected for their environmental, animal and people-friendliness. No harmful chemicals or bad practices involved!

It can sometimes be a bit confusing to understand listing pricing which typically reflect seasonal discounts. In the case of my property the breakdown is as follows:
Nov - April: $105/day and $700/week
May - Oct: $125/day and $825/week
If the pricing the system delivers does not reflect the above please let me know.
Simone's flat has a great location downtown. We walked everywhere - down to the harbour front and up to the AGO and the museum. A great space for a couple wanting more personal space than a shared listing. The kitchen had everything we needed, even though Simone lists it as basic. We cooked most nights - great supplies from Kensington Market. A great bolt hole in the heart of the city.
My partner and I had wonderful time staying at Simone's place. It was spotless, well decorated, comfortable, and perfectly located. The light is also great, as is the awesome power of the shower. Simone is also very attentive, and was able to answer practical questions in real time. All in all an excellent experience. A minor point: If you are a messy person this might not be for you. We had no problem but I think cluttery types might feel self-conscious amidst such manicured beauty. Otherwise GO FOR IT
Simone's pad was wonderful, centrally located with an artistic vibe. We really enjoyed her recommendations of coffee houses, places to eat, and where to shop. Simone is professional, responsive, and accommodating.
It is our first Airbnb experience as a guest and we are so glad that we chose the right place and Simone is simply a FIVE STAR host.
Simone provide us with a magical personal touch from reservation , check in and check out. It really made us feel like home.
I am pleasantly surprised to the quality of the well water she made an effort to bring back from North. It reminds me of the spa feel at Ste.Annes.
Lovely pod and lovely host. Price is very reasonable for Toronto downtown location. Proximity to Loblaws and King and Queen district.
This apartment was an absolute delight, I quite enjoyed staying here and hope to use it again for future trips to Toronto! It's in a smaller no-frills condo building, which I much prefer to the towers closer to the lake. Super cozy for one, but a couple would be fine too. This place is in a perfect location just off King Street, with excellent coffee nearby, very close to shopping, groceries, and transportation. Spacious bathroom with a great shower. No TV, which didn't bother me at all but it's worth mentioning. I'm already crossing my fingers that the unit will be available for my next visit :)
The apartment looks exactly as advertised on the pictures. Everything was clean and cozy and we felt very welcome at Simone's place.
Everything is in walking distance and the place itself is well situated in terms of museums, galleries, restaurants and night life.
I would highly recommend this place.
We LOVED this place. First of all, the location was perfect, there was so much to do within walking distance. Lots of great bars and restaurants were just around the corner but the actual building was on a small one way street so it was very quiet.
Simone was very accommodating. We had a late flight on the day of check out and asked if we could leave our bags a little later than check out time. She was so generous to allow us to do that and it was very helpful!
The flat was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. We were there in February and although it was freezing outside, it felt very cozy inside.
I highly recommended this place for a person traveling alone or a couple as it is small. The layout makes it feel spacious but I think if it had been more than just my boyfriend and I, I would have wanted more space.
We had a great stay at the Pod! It was super comfortable, cozy, and immaculate; we had everything that we needed, as well as being in a convenient location. Simone was super helpful and responsive. Thank you so much for the stay, Jenn & Jason
This was a great spot! Very nice location downtown, in a quiet building. Host provided good suggestions and directions to surrounding cafés, and shopping area. Hope to stay here again when the occasion arises.
The place was great and Simone was a gracious and reasonable host. Highly recommend and good value for downtown Toronto
