Where you’ll be

Caol, Scotland, United Kingdom

Caol is a lovely quiet village just 2 miles just outside the main town of Fort William on the Road to the Isle's and Mallaig.

At the front of the house you have the Caledonian Canal on your doorstep with the famous Neptunes Staircase only a 5 minute walk away. Banavie train station is again only a 5 minute walk away where you can see the world famous Jacobite Steam Train.

Free brown trout fishing is also available on the canal. The Lochy pub and restaurant is family friendly with lovely staff and is only a 5 minute walk from our home.

Glenfinnan Monument and the famous Glenfinnan viaduct (Harry Potter Bridge) is only a 20 minute drive from our home. Further on you can spend the day exploring and relaxing at the Silver Sands of Morar.

There are many forest walks locally and a 10 minute drive away should you wish to climb Ben Nevis. I would be happy to recommend some routes.

Eileen Donan Castle is a 1.5 hour drive on the way to the Island of Skye with Oban a 1 hour drive where you can catch a ferry to the Inner and Outer Hebrides.

Within a ten minute walk there is a supermarket, fish and chip shop, laundrette, post office, cafe and 2 Chinese takeaway's.
