About this listing
Bright and comfortable 525 square foot, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath single private cottage completely separate from the main house and is accessed through its own driveway path.
The outside deck lets you enjoy the sunshine or night sky.
This is the first time this cottage will be posted on airbnb, but in the past since 1997 the cottage had lots of people living in it from periods of few months to 7 years. We lived there too. From our collective experience, we feel confident to share that it was always habitated by loving and full of joy couples as well as single people who had busy professional lives who loved it as a refuge, calming, beautiful, clean, practical, full of nature and still close to cosmopolitan city life amenities. It feel to us like a place where you can feel safe at home with yourself and a loved one if you have one, and you little ones or some other family member travelling with you. We also had a family of 6 once from Spain who they were laughing a lot sharing the cottage. I also have a picture somewhere of 3 friends sleeping in the futon; when probably a couple friend of them was in the sleeping in the bedroom.

Other things to note
I had people stayed before interested on the Berkeley Marina Cal Sailing Club. Another person was interested on our local thriving Tango Community.
Parking on the street is free; but our block neighbours usually park in front of their houses.
Be aware that you and any family or friend coming to visit you - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT - park on the driveway in front of the cottage ( there is a small 'No Parking" sign that I bought one in London and I posted it on the picked fence; that is for everybody but us. Us: meaning you in this case. Us to differenciate my neighbors from us . This space in front of the cottage's driveway is reserve for you). If you need extra parking: across the street towards the west end of the block where no neighbours usually park.
The city of Berkeley have strict rules against smoking.
On Decemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), the Berkeley City Council passed an amendment to ordinance 12.70 prohibiting smoking in all multi-nit residences in Berkeley. This includes common areas such as but not limited to private decks, balconies, and parking garages. The ordinance went into effect May 1, 2014. A link to the ordinance can be found at the city of Berkeley website.
No smoking inside.

We are a couple who loves Berkeley and we also love Argentine Tango dancing. We are planning to open a Small Family Daycare in the future. Our goal is to have four toddlers and two babies. We had the pleasure of fostering two sibling toddlers for seven months not long ago 2013-2014.
We are changing working paths. In the past Alejandra, originally from Argentina, had worked in the HIV non-profit field after getting a Psychology Bachelor degree from UC Berkeley; and Charles recently retired from the US Navy Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 plus years service. He also retired as a Master Technician for Mercedes Benz after 30 plus years.
Our last travel destinations were Buenos Aires and Salta in Argentina and El DF in Mexico City. We are looking forward to go to Costa RIca soon.
