Unique, converted ‘50s church with retro, slightly religious décor. Stroll to esplanade reserve for a relaxing dip in warm harbour waters. Enjoy a rejuvenating massage at Oasis Beauty, superb fish & chips from the Dairy or the new cycle trail.

The space

Come and enjoy our unique, converted 1950’s church in the heart of this little village. A gorgeous blend of antique and brand new furniture and appliances and delightful, retro, slightly religious themed decor. The gorgeous Master bedroom comes with unique adjoining reading/meditation space. The adjacent room is currently set up with two single beds, but these can be joined to make a double. The mezzanine bedroom is set up with a double bed. Full kitchenette facilities (includes convection microwave with cooktop), modern bathroom, wooden floored dining/sitting room, plus a very sunny separate lounge that leads out to the BBQ deck and gardens.

All bedrooms have bedside tables and except the mezzanine room, have large wardrobes and suitcase rests.

The conversion and renovations were completed in late May 2014, private tropical gardens are currently being developed and once these have matured the nightly rates will be going up, so take advantage of the early bird cheaper rates and book now!

Guest access

There are indoor games and books for wet days, kayaks (2 single seaters with lifejackets) and mountain bikes (Two adults) for sunny days.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and tidy, and was exactly as described. It is a lovely quiet street. It was winter, so we were never going to go swimming, but we enjoyed some pleasant walks, cycle rides (the cycle trails are very handy) and great dining at nearby Matakana and vineyards. In the evenings we watched vidoes and played games - including some from the place. Communication with Andrew was easy.

A delightful place to stay, with extremely comfortable beds and a great shower. The kitchen wouldn't lend itself to the preparation and cooking of elaborate meals, although we had everything we needed for what we wanted (and can recommend the take aways from the Point Wells General Store.) Andrew was very responsive and a great host to deal with.

The Chapel is a wonderful place to stay. It is unique with fabulous retro furniture and ornaments. It was welcoming, very clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable and fantastic shower! The location is great, super close to the general store which has yummy burgers. We will definitely be back : ) Thanks, Andrew!

Lovely stylish house. Small kitchen which may limit the more adventurous cooks! Great access to parks and green spaces for kids to explore.
