Sally was warm and welcoming. She was ready to accept us even though we were only able to arrive very late at night. She even left us some food in the fridge which was excellent. The flat has all the basics that we could have wanted. Its very well laid out and comfortable. The air conditioner was not very effective, but the nights were not hot enough for us to be uncomfortable.

Talipot lodge in Grand Gaube is just the place to be while you are on Mauritius!! As long as you like it quiet, peaceful and not touristy. We stayed 12 days in december with our 20 months old twins here and after a visit to Rodrigues we got back for another 3 weeks in january. The appartements are clean and comfortable and have all you need and want at european standard. Well equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, a nice veranda and the mosquitonets above the beds come handy. The property has a lovely big garden with mango and palm trees and the pool is great to freshen up. Sally and her family make sure you feel like at home and help wherever they can. Grand Gaube is a charming little fishing village. The public beach is 8 min from the lodge. It is not great for swimming and sunbathing, but you can enjoy great views over the bay while you are having a picnic there. The village has a view snack stalls where you get typical dishes and some small supermarkets for the basics. A car can accomodate your stay. Especially to explore the beautiful island a bit more. Buses do run frequently to Port Louis and the 95 takes you to the northern beaches and also to Grand Baie. This bus does not run so often and timetable is not very reliable, but it stops right in front of the door. If you have the time and patience, it is nevertheless worth going by bus. We do reccommend the Talipot Lodge without any doubt and hope to come back again one day. Thanks Sally!

I was several weeks in advance contacted by Sally, our host, to make sure everything was as expected. The Talipot lodge as she calls it is a great place in a great location. We stayed for 25 days so it goes without saying we enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommended apartment, garden, location and our wonderful host.

Our 3 night stay at Talipot Lodge was all we hoped it would be. Prior to our arrival Sally provided detailed information including the offer to book airport transfers and car hire which we gladly accepted. Unfortunately Sally was abroad during our visit so we did not meet her but her delightful mother-in-law was on hand to answer any questions we had. We have little to add to the earlier reviews - Talipot Lodge is very good value and a great place to stay. John and Marie.

Sally was the nicest host ever. She was really helpful, she gave us all the information we needed, she even went with us to the hospital, when i hurt my leg. That night she brought me a delicious fish, so i didnt need to cook. Her apartment is spacious, clean, with a well equipped kitchen. Garden is lovely and we had a barbecou party by the pool. My son liked to play with her son and we enjoyed talking with Sally. I would absolutely stay in this apartment again if I have the chance and i highly recommend to all!

I'm a housewife, full-time mother and self-employed in our small property. I like nature, walking, running, music, arts and musical events of different types; the sea, the fresh sea breeze, the beach especially in the afternoons..the long summer evenings, healthy food and tea. I've been much involved in raising my child during the last few years, he's growing up so fast!

As a host, my husband Bruno, my son Mahé and our family like to meet new people and make people comfortable, providing a cozy space and privacy; me and my family always offer the best we can and we're available for an advice or help whenever possible or just for a coffee or tea anytime. I like making new friends and sharing a good time. Having been raised on a island, I like the beauty and serenity nature provides and apart from that there's also so much to do in Mauritius, it's spirited, exciting, mysterious, cultural and spiritual! I hope to welcome you to Mauritius.
