Te Keo’s Nest is located on the back of Mount Victoria, approximately 15 minutes walk from the lookout. From the Mt Victoria lookout you have a 360 degree view of the whole city, which is a fantastic way of getting the lay of the land.

Mt Victoria is also a great place to go for a walk as there are bush walks ranging from 10 minutes to 3+ hours.

The property is a comfortable 30 minutes downhill walk or 2-5 minutes by car from Oriental Bay, Freyberg pool and fitness centre, Te Papa ( our national museum) Wellington City Art Gallery, and all the restaurants, cafes and theatres of downtown Wellington. Catch a bus or Uber back up the hill as it’s a bit of a climb!

There is a New World supermarket located at Chaffers Park in town. Te Keo’s nest is also conveniently located near the adjoining suburb of Hataitai which has many dining options, a pharmacy, Pilates studio, bottle store and cafes, osteopath etc.

I am an artist and print maker who trained as an anthropologist and teacher. I love the beach and good strong coffee. I speak German fluently, basic Maori and rudimentary French. I have traveled fairly extensively overseas and within New Zealand. Te Keo’s Nest is my place of artistic practice. My family fell in love with the quintessentially Wellington feeling of this sweet old villa and look forward to sharing it with visitors.

During your stay
Te Keo’s Nest is the perfect spot for a romantic couples escape, and your privacy within the house is assured. I am a working artist and my art studio is located below the house, but my work hours fall between 10am and 2pm when guests are staying.
I am able to assist you with moving in, as there are stairs to the property, a base level of fitness is required to mount the stairs. As a lifelong Wellingtonian I am happy to give you any insider tips, best places to eat, do yoga, bush walks, theatres, events, good coffee (good coffee is very important to Wellingtonians!)
