Such a beautiful place to stay, the whole family were there to greet us, and instructions to find our little cabin in the garden were very clear and extremely helpful. The surrounding garden is beautiful and home to bee's, sheep and geese at the end! The cabin itself is perfectly formed, so comfortable clean and welcoming. As well as the cabin we had access to a private breakfast room, where an exquisite breakfast was laid out every morning. A variety of food was served and lots of it homemade and local produce. I cannot recommend Sylvianne and Jean Phillipes cabin more, so so delightful, I cant wait to come back!

This is a one off special treat. You arrive to a luscious garden of fruits, flowers, herbs, veggies. There are 2 heavenly Cameroon sheep that I will never forget, almost like antelope. Hens, roosters, ducks..and then the bee hives! This is a slice of nature that was formed by the hosts with thought, fortitude and grace. Your hosts will share themselves with you to the extent you avail yourself. I found both to be warm, sincere, intelligent. Their family and children are equally hospitable. Breakfast is more than anyone could possible enjoy and all presented with care and thought. Much comes from the farm inc fresh eggs. Arriving back in the the evening there was even more awaiting us: chocolates, Belgian candies and a selection of tea coffee. The room is comfortable and clean, nothing is missing. This was a memorable stay that if I'm fortunate enough to repeat I will.

You are very fortunate if you have found Sylvianne's website. We did a trip recently with 4 Airbnb locations, and without doubt Syvianne's accommodation and hospitality stood out. The log cabin is private and very comfortable, and with a special "natural" feel, and is situated in a lovely garden. All amenities and food are to an exceptional standard. The location is ideal; the town of Passendale has its own excellent museum and it is very close to Ypres. The host and her family made us feel completely welcome in a way that is rare to find.

We could not have chosen a better place for our time on the Western Front in Belgium. Why? For a start, our hosts: Sylvianne and Jean-Philippe are charming, warm and friendly, with a great sense of humour. Their knowledge of history and love of their local area and culture were both interesting and very useful. Then there was the setting and location: a mini-farm in the midst of more extensive fields. For those interested in history, we were 10 minutes from Tyne Cote and a short drive from the impressive Passchendale Museum. There were so many personal and distinctive touches - in the cottage, in the cosy sitting room, the delicious breakfasts and the chance to talk and share stories with two delightful people. We found it very hard to leave Blokhut te Passendale.

The self constructed hut is just amazing. It is a very cosy place, perfect for a short retreat where you can relax and just enjoy life. The additional "living room" is also really cosy. We really enjoyed having breakfast/dinner there or just read a book close to the fireplace. Sylvianne and Jean-Philippe are unbelievably friendly, open and caring. One hint: Do not reject the offer of Sylvianne to cook for you. She is a marvelous cook. The hospitality was just perfect! So we can definitely recommend to stay with them.

Life is simply a series of moments and memories....and our experience at Sylvianne & Jean Philippe's place was definitely a series of extremely positive ones....We spent 4 nights at their place around the November 11th Remembrance Day ceremonies, and they definitely helped make the experience a very special time for my partner and me. They had an uncanny ability to know when to offer up advice/suggestions, and when to leave us alone and allow us simply enjoy their beautiful place. The cultural exchange was one of the reason we chose Airbnb, and this property definitively did not disappoint. In addition, they have a couple of great teenage kids that help out behind the scenes, and it was a pleasure to be able to share various interesting moments with them. The "Cabin in the Garden" is a fantastic place to relax/sleep and catch up on life (It was so quiet at night I had trouble sleeping the first night!). Important to note that they only host one person/couple at a time. Besides the bedroom/bathroom cabin, you also have exclusive access to a beautiful breakfast/lounge area attached to the house. We found that we started and ended our days in this area in the comfort of a wood burning fire (URL HIDDEN) warming and relaxing. The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic, and included many products that they grow in their garden (try the jam preserves or the amazing apple juice!...and the (URL HIDDEN) exactly that!). We now have a fantastic appreciation of Iper (Ypres)/Passchendale because of the ideal location of this particular place, but also more importantly because of Sylvianne and Jean Philippe. Apparently the Airbnb experience is a relatively new venture for them, and we were the first Canadians to stay at their place. Start lining up Canadians - this, is the place to stay! p.s. Please don't let the single dirt driveway throw you off when you arrive - it's all good, and it only get's better!!

Sylvianne and Jean-Phillipe and fantastic hosts and the cabin was great. The location was ideal for our trip and Sylvianne and Jean-Phillipe were always available to discuss things to do or places to go. You have to eat here too Sylvianne is a great cook and most of the food comes from the garden. Breakfast was more than enough to keep us going for most of the afternoon and the evening meal we had was fabulous. Thanks for making your place available - we really enjoyed our time with you.
